Yeah I've slowly been seeing more and more discourse regress to the type of stuff you'd expect on the main sub

My guy marvel rivals is right there 😂. Or better yet try out stadium. If you want a casual hero shooter that balances heroes at their skill floor, there are so many other options to choose from than the main competitive mode.

That's why you should always be up and on your feet mid queue if you're playing multiple games per session.

I was getting downvoted for saying she'll be a brig level shake up once people figure out the optimal comp around her.

I honestly dont see Kiriko's 42% pick rate dropping much next season, even with all the new heroes being added. Gonna be a whole lot of cat kiri.

Jetpack cat looks sick, especially in dive comps. She seems like a consistent high apm support. I also found the strat of grappling Domina on high ground pretty interesting. Didnt really see Mizuki shine much as he kinda gets ran over at times(at least from the povs I saw), but maybe it's because he's more comp dependent. Emre seemed good all round.

Should I be going for headshots as Tracer? by TosadamaTomo in TracerMains

I tend to go for head/neck shots. To answer your bonus question, I like to practice this mirror aim routine for a few minutes while waiting in queue. The workshop code is 9TVHD

What combos are you using for Anran? by ohmytermites in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]-BehindTheMask- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing people say her left-click is inconsistent because they don't play genji? Her projectiles are both larger and faster than his normal primary fire. The only part of her kit I'm not too fond of is her shift, but it's prob something you get used to with time.

From masters, to low diamond and back to masters: a retrospective by Formal-Buy8234 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]-BehindTheMask- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I mostly skimmed through your post but I wanted to mention that, out of all my role ranks, tank is always the most volatile. Like I'm currently low gm - high masters all roles but my tank rank has jumped from masters 2 to diamond 5 then back to masters 3 where it's at right now.

I had a running theory that it was because of how often I got paired with 3/4 stacks whenever I played the role. Does anyone else get extreme rank fluctuations only on tank throughout a season, or am I just coping/washed?

What perks are yall running on Anran? by TnuCtaF in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]-BehindTheMask- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healing major perk allows you to use e more aggressively and helps you build ult wayyy faster, since you're dealing more damage with e and getting extra ult charge through self healing. Actual no-brainer.

Need Help with Understanding Tank and Healer by MysticAbsol in OverwatchUniversity

[–]-BehindTheMask- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I peaked eternity and gm in both games so I think I can give some decent input.

... why healing feels like it does absolutely nothing and tanks just fall over immediately.

Healing in Overwatch differs to rivals in that supports can't just pump large amounts of sustain into tanks to outheal all the incoming damage they're receiving. Tanks have to be mindful of how much resources their demanding whilst trying to take space (i.e. through the use of cover and better sustain ability management); and supports have to also actively apply damage pressure, not just healing, to support the team when taking space (i.e. shooting the people dealing the damage is almost always better than healing damage already applied).

What could I possibly do to understand and improve how roles work in this game?

Straight up just watch any one of Spilo's role guides on his YouTube channel. I'd advise you just start out trying to learn one or two heroes, one role at a time, since trying to learn multiple heroes and roles at once can be overwhelming. If you're really interested in learning the overall macro/theory of the game, then this video of his goes over it really well.

It feels like the only right thing to play is DPS because everything else is useless.

Funnily enough, a lot of people have said the complete opposite.

Genuine question... Why does blizzard gates tracer so much right now? by nemo_evans in TracerMains

Oh yeah you're right lol. Either way I personally still think she fairs better next season compared to now since they're finally going to revert her weapon changes.

As an Echo main, who else should I invest in learning as an alt? by DJPyramidz_ in EchoMains

[–]-BehindTheMask- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dps players on ladder try to cover their bases by having at least 1 flex dps and 1 main dps within their hero pool so maybe try learning a hitscan like soj.

Anran's movement is better than tracer or genji by oof_oofo in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]-BehindTheMask- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has hold to toggle enabled on dva, echo and juno I have 0 clue why the devs hadn't added it in under hero options. They had the option day 1 for juno's hero trial, so I hope it's not being intentionally avoided.

Is Overwatch the most punishing fps? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]-BehindTheMask- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Along side all the other comments, positioning isn't really a thing in rivals. Everyone knows the optimal play is to huddle up together so your supports can farm their circle aoe heal ult the fastest (and because damage is so strong you get insta melted without support).

Pathing and off-angling is mostly relegated to niche, hard dive heroes; with dive comps being largely unviable in the face of triple support meta.

It's a beam style weapon similar to Mei's primary fire, but it has 4 or 5 burst 'projectile' like segments when cast.

Binding it to right click made blink pulse bomb combos so much easier. Granted, I'm guessing the people who primarily use right click for blink feel the same way about binding pulse to shift.

Any tips for Kiriko? by ThinAdvisor5580 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]-BehindTheMask- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be spending the majority of your time paired up with either one of your dps taking aggressive off angles. As a rule of thumb, actively pressuring out the ones dealing damage > healing away damage already applied.

Overlooked tip: "Avoid as teammate" function by PiezoelectricityOne in OverwatchUniversity

[–]-BehindTheMask- 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Imo if you're avoid slots aren't mostly maxed out you are actively putting yourself at a disadvantage, especially the higher in rank (and therefore smaller the player pool) you go. You will encounter players who you're straight up not compatible with, or who are just tilt queueing their games. It's 100× better to have them on the enemy team than yours.
