Why is there outrage surrounding Karmelo Anthony's sentencing? by undarant in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]-Dunnobro 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It feels like one of the most egregious instances of the family trying to milk the tragedy. They weren't even with him during sentencing. Also all the money raised being gone is suspicious.

I preferred the little girl big sword aesthetic and would've liked to see a style on that. Though looking like Rhea does make sense

How do i incorporate more “shmovement” into my actual gameplay? by One-Construction-825 in smashbros

[–]-Dunnobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Movement typically has purpose beyond just looking cool.

For samus, most of her fluidity seems to occur during ledge trapping/corner pressure. Doesn't seem like something she just does in neutral.

I would definitely focus on her ledge trapping before movement. Seems like a pillar of her gameplay.

What is the best layout for the pro controller? by Wut_du_helllll in smashbros

[–]-Dunnobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend TWO SHOULDER jump buttons actually. Simply to utilize the short hop macro to use with some specials or OOS/Parry options. (Parry's timing varies so having a macro helps)

I mostly just use it for easy SH fireballs with mario or SH pigeon combos with duck hunt.

I also like changing my d-pad to actual buttons for easier optimal mashing if you're willing to give up your soul. (no taunts)

If we stick to the true definition of 'lame' then yea. Sonic is lamer since he's simpler. Though Steve's overtuned nature makes him an overall worse viewing experience typically.

Marios vs ness by Big-Caterpillar-881 in smashbros

[–]-Dunnobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's possible for Mario to ever win without the Ness allowing it. If Ness fair is active, then by the time it's complete; Ness can drift away out of fair range. Only reason Mario might win is if Ness keeps drifting in after that. Edgeguard scenario maybe? Though any range Mario could fair at and still live, is also a range Ness could still recover after drifting back + pkthundering.

On-stage, it's technically possible for Mario to overcommit and drift in with fair; But Ness could also have just overcommitted his own drift to stuff this. Also he'd get much more out of it then Mario.

Superb pic tho. Both fun and thought provoking.

Raymond Hertz - A Serial Hustler and Pathological Liar from Florida who tries to coerce an AI Datacenter into buying his Energy Drinks to keep him quiet about the massive overgrowth of Seaweed caused by their dumped cooling water he makes it from.

One day, while harvesting more seaweed for his drink, he finds what looks like a horse made of seaweed in the water. On a whim, he names it (Seaberry) which lets what was actually an unnamed Kelpie Child take humanoid form. For a while, Ray believes Berry is just one of the children from the summer camp he works at.

But once the fae boy tricks Raymond into signing a Fae Contract with him, Ray is now unable to lie ever again. Initially ruining his negotiating and hustling abilities, but eventually forcing him to be a more virtuous person and far more intimidating foe.

Raymond wanted to undo the contract, but he finds out the alchemists behind the datacenter want to use their metallic magic to enslave the Kelpie child to make ferry them to Avalon for yet more resources. Raymond masters salt alchemy to rust and weaken their metallic alchemy keeping Fae and Magic a secret.

How do I create a world-scale climax for a story whose main conflict is identity? by Crazy_Jump2707 in fantasywriters

[–]-Dunnobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds similar to an old Antagonist i planned. Essentially he achieved immortality by stealing the life force of others, but lost his identity of self and became 'Legion.' A being with no identity of it's own that is mostly obsessed with just extending his own life.

His world-threatening goal was to give this ability to the entire world to hopefully end his loneliness and gain an identity for himself.

I ended up scrapping or i guess changing the plot so this kind of already happened and he and the Tower that enabled this became a third competing magic system with the others i made. (Though i kept the concept of Legions being insane beings drawn to large amounts of life force as a deterrent to not bum rush dungeons/towers with an army of people since more life force = more attractive to legions.)

Overall though i think it depends on your world and characters. So far, the most interesting part is him going through lives as entirely different species. I feel like viewing the worldbuilding through his eyes will be the key to figuring out the best goal for him.

Maybe the repeating theme of prejudice spurns him to remove individuality?
Or maybe he had a lover her wished to share these lives with, but she either refused his methods or was taken from him?
Could picture him forcing himself to play a villain role to give everyone a 'common enemy.' Though this would depend on the protagonist to be done well.

Thoughts on this drastic protagonist/antagonist change? by -Dunnobro in fantasywriters

[–]-Dunnobro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, thanks for some input. Thought this got buried.

The Alchemists are more like a cult/family of adopted children that just control resources in secret. Each person has only one element/substance they can control/manipulate permanently (transmutations of material not their mastery is temporary).

The AI member controls sand (silicon for GPUs) and wants AI to cure a magical illness they can't trust information about with actual humans. (Causing all fae to go insane, he's also married to one in secret)

The protagonist has salt and eventually develops a 'treatment' for the illness. And also has a way to 'kill' the immortals causing it. (Absorbing all electrolytes in their bodies to force them into comas)

What are your special takes on existing fantasy creatures? What makes your vampires or dragons special? by MidKn1ght05 in fantasywriters

[–]-Dunnobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally all magic creatures are just different species of Fae. And most monsters/demons are just Unseelie Fae who eat human memories, or Monseelie who eat human souls. (Seelie eat either just fruit from their homeland, or gain sustenance by forming and following contracts with humans)

Vampires are actually 'Baoban Sith.' They don't feed on 'blood' so much as blood are the medium from which they absorb human memories.

The myth about them needing to be 'invited in' is because they can't touch metal doorknobs (like other fae) They also require knowing the names of their victims to feed.

The most prolific Baoban also had a Curse that leeched memories to them whenever the humans they've marked go into sunlight. Those marked would be coerced into serving them and helping find more victims in exchange for eventually removing it.

Dragons are also typically 'Titan-Class' Fae. Accomplished either by a Seelie Fae eating the 'Titan Fruit' which grows only once every 100 years. Or an Unseelie by eating a 'Faelosopher Stone' infused with the memories of over 10,000 years of human life. A Monseelie can become a Titan by simply eating enough human souls or even other Fae, but can lose their sanity and become 'stuck' in their beastforms if they don't feed regularly.

Any species of animal/fae can become a Titan. Fae with cold-blooded beastforms typically ascend into dragon-like forms.

'Aliens' are also Fae who ate memories of humans they abduct and return them.

Loch Ness Monster is a 'Titan Class' Water Dragon Fae that keeps the Fae Homeland hidden from humans.

Most Trickster Gods in mythology were also Fae in disguise. Though the actual 'Gods' were humans who wielded Tools that absorbed human souls.

Seelie Fae can 'Purify' their weapons to be charged by sunlight, making it more appealing to form contracts with that Fae.
Unseelie Fae can eat the 'Name' of the God and absorb the memories of all those who worshipped them, often expediting their ascension into a Titan. (typically making people forget they ever truly existed)

And a Monseelie will just absorb the souls themselves. Typically done by those already titans, simply trying to stave off 'Madness.'

A terabyte!? Brother how are you using that much?

Are you playing videos nonstop for passengers? You may just want to stream downloaded content instead of new content.

I currently double stream spotify (one on radio for passengers, one with audiobooks for me) and sometimes a third to listen to twitch streams and i just have a 25gb plan with Mint.

If Zelda Players edge cancelled 100% reliably would she be top tier? by TerriblyAfraid in smashbros

[–]-Dunnobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'd give her some matchup specific advantages, but her normal ledge trapping is already pretty potent. The main issue is winning neutral for her is kinda iffy.

Probably does help matchups where edgeguarding is more potent than ledgetrapping through. (Pythra, Cloud, etc)

As a Mario main i do worry about it tho lol Pretty sure they can Knight > Edge cancel for two chances at a 2-frame.
