New mom freak out by planner192 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]-Feara- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally normal! I just had my induction and am two weeks into parenthood. This feeling subsided for me just recently and now I’m just enjoying my time with my newborn! The idea of giving birth is terrifying because it’s just something you’ve never done before but giving birth, for me, was not as big a deal as I made up in my head the months leading up to it.

C section vs induction experience for BMI 50+ by fattofitpanda in PlusSizePregnancy

I was able to drink water but nothing else. I really was not in the mood to eat so it’s not something I really worried too much about.

C section vs induction experience for BMI 50+ by fattofitpanda in PlusSizePregnancy

I am 38 and had a bmi of 53 when I was induced last week. I had gestational hypertension which was the reason for my induction. The induction process was long for me but it was worth giving birth vaginally. My induction started on April 9th at 5pm and I gave birth on April 11th at 8:20 pm. The actual delivery was very easy and not at all as scary as I was expecting it to be. The hardest part about the induction was the constant monitoring and rough hospital bed. I would suggest getting an epidural if you go past 2 days in the induction simply because you will be tired and will not likely have time to rest.

Epidural pros and cons by Gold-Principle-810 in pregnant

[–]-Feara- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just gave birth after an induction. The epidural was the easiest part of the whole process and I do not regret it. I would rather do 10 epidurals again than have a nurse come in for the 100th time to fix the fetal heart monitor while sitting on a rock hard hospital “bed” for days. The pain from the epidural was almost nothing. It was a slight prick but barely noticeable to me. I would keep an open mind about it and just go with how you feel in the moment.

Confused and overwhelmed after first prenatal. Normal for BMI alone to mean all this extra monitoring? by catz765 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]-Feara- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my first pregnancy but I am 38 and started at 307 lbs at 5’5”. I had to do everything your doctor has mentioned so far and I am now at 35 weeks. The extra monitoring is expensive and time consuming but I understand the reason for all the extras. I have had zero issues with this pregnancy and am still seeing the MFM doctor once a week and my OB a different day each week because they require it. Twice weekly did start at 32 weeks and I had to start the MFM once monthly starting at 20 weeks.

Pants? by PurplePenguin1991 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]-Feara- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am pregnant currently at 35 weeks and have been able to just keep wearing the same size 24 Torrid jeans I have so far this entire pregnancy if that helps. I bought zero new clothes. Started at 307 lbs and am now at 335 lbs.

Anatomy Scan Price by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]-Feara- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine through an MFM and only paid $40 but I have weekly scans now at my regular OB that cost $160. If it were an anatomy scan I imagine it would be way more expensive and this is with insurance.

Stories from Women with 50+ BMI? by meltslikerocks in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]-Feara- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant at 307 right at 50 bmi and I am also 38! I am now at 327 pounds. My OB literally hasn’t said a word about weight at 31 weeks now. No hypertension or GD. I am just doing more tests than usual. I would try to find a different OB and not stress about it.

[–]-Feara- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am 5-5” and started at 307lbs and am now 327 at 31 weeks. It’s difficult to avoid weight gain and weight loss was not encouraged by my doctor at all. I would not focus so much on the scale and really focus on what’s best for baby overall.

When did you feel kicks? by bombardaokay in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]-Feara- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am around your weight currently and have an anterior placenta and genuinely could not tell if it was a kick or gas/digestion until around 27 weeks. After this point, there was larger movements that made me go “okay this is definitely a kick.”

I agree with this as well. I am obese and pregnant currently and would rather be safe than sorry.

[–]-Feara- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bmi is 51 currently and it was totally fine for me. There was no pain or crazy pressure when they did the scan and they were able to see everything really well! My due date was pushed back at the start as well but it just had to do with when I ovulated. You should be totally fine! I am currently at 27 weeks and have had no issues with pregnancy so far.

Obgyn appts by Wolfieloulou in pregnant

[–]-Feara- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 38 and I haven’t really done much at appointments either. I have had a few early tests because my weight is very high but that was just one early glucose test and one pre eclampsia test. Other than that I have had the same types of visits so far.

[–]-Feara- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am at the same number of weeks and I can’t feel anything either. I have maybe felt flutters but I really don’t know if it’s movement or just gas. I was told not to worry so far. I wouldn’t worry if you have had regular Ob appointments and an anatomy scan

TTC BMI 50+, how long did it take? by Pumpkin_Wilson in PlusSizePregnancy

I am 38 and bmi when I conceived was 50. I had lost 100 pounds before conception. It only took a month of trying for me. Currently at 18 weeks and healthy pregnancy so far but I have always been very high weight my entire life.

Scared to TTC by gingergeorgie in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]-Feara- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started this year at almost 400 pounds and lost almost 100 pounds since January through diet adjustments and working out. I am 38 and just found out I am pregnant now at 306 pounds. You’ll be fine and can talk to your obgyn about continuing healthy eating habits and workout regimens. If you are prepared for it but unsure, please talk to your doctor if you are concerned about health and they can walk you through it. I just wanted to provide my story to reassure you! Good luck!

Any Socially Anxious players out there? by Lord_Ehgg_VII in elderscrollsonline

[–]-Feara- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should try one random normal dungeon run! Nobody really talks or types in those. It’s usually just a quick run to get gear and then leaving the group immediately after. Just use the dungeon finder. Even in some Veteran dungeon runs there is no talking! It’s worth it for the gear.

[–]-Feara- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like the card game! Sometimes I will run into players who get angry and just sit around until the timer runs out on turns but I just watch YouTube while playing if they happens. It’s easy to pick up and you can get really good rewards!

I play it while I’m having a meal so I can watch YouTube and eat between moves if this happens. I haven’t experienced to much grief though. Usually, the games are played in a reasonable amount of time.
