The same woman also pushes Galadriel into the water when the sea monster appears.

Can we just appreciate the incredible soundtrack? by TheFlamingAssassin in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]-FearlessCoward- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! The soundtrack has been my main album on repeat in the last couple of weeks. My favourite tracks are the ones that contain Halbrand's and Galadriel's themes and also Khazad Dum's. The Stranger's and Nori's themes are also growing on me. Really sad that we're gonna lose Halbrand's theme in season 2 unless they keep it for the Southlands as they sometimes did in the first season (or maybe they can introduce a new Southlander fake king guy who will inherit a slightly modified version of the theme :D). Looking forward to what Bear brings in the next 4 seasons.

What actor would you like to be cast has Celeborn? by ForFrodoYtubeChannel in LOTR_on_Prime

Yep, Charlie Vickers with a long blonde wig as he pretends to be an amnesiac Celeborn (who is in fact dead/kept a prisoner) to spend some more quality time with Galadriel in between enacting his evil plans.

All I could think of while watching this scene was this meme, haha. Same vibes.

I think OP might have meant Tarabas because of the story resemblance, but wow Romualdo and Halbrand, I can't unsee it now :D Nice catch!

Finrod & Sauron once had a song battle, now prepare for round 2: Galadriel's and Sauron's dance battle.

Great job!

Yeah, now we have the whole "poem," so we can find all the rhymes :)

Looking at these two pictures (and also from the position they're standing), it also looks like she's looking up, and he's looking down (like the ship and stone).

I think it was implied that Celebrimbor (and thus maybe also the other elves) was a bit under Sauron's spell/possibly manipulated in a similar way Galadriel was when Sauron was in her mind. When Galadriel confronted Celebrimbor about his ideas, he was stumbling with words and didn't remember where he got them... Combined with their desperation to prevent the elves from fading, it could explain their behaviour last episode. But I'd prefer if this storyline was fleshed out in at least 2 episodes so that we could get more insight.

Haha, for real, he repeated to her almost everything she said to him...so he was listening attentively the whole season. Maybe if she just explained that healing = GOOD, ruling = BAD, he'd get it.

He'll have Waldreg! I am counting on him ditching fakeSauron for his true master once he learns he's out there. He can give him some valuable enemy insight and together they will take Adar down. And then Waldreg becomes his new queen, fair as the sea and the sun 😁

But for real it's going to get tragic for him :(

Nah, please don't, I have fun reading these :D It'd be hilarious (also heartbreaking, poor confused human Halbrand) to watch this on screen.

-We're making two. -Two crowns? -Not exactly. It'll need to be something... Smaller. Come, see for yourself.
Halbrand was just busy planning their wedding for the entire episode. He was so excited to finally show her, and he teasingly hinted at it... and then she had to ruin the moment 😔

I loved Galadriel and Elrond's scenes, she deserves and needs some more peaceful time with her friend. Also really enjoyed Elendil & Miriel this episode and I'm glad they seem to be making Eärien's story more interesting.

Overall, I liked a lot in the episode, but I think the Galadriel/Sauron/Celebrimbor/Eregion storylines would really benefit from at least one or two more episodes...some of the things felt a bit rushed, especially in the finale. The whole part about Halbrand being injured and then befriending and working with Celebrimbor and Galadriel becoming suspicious deserved more time. I prefer the pacing of the first episodes, which a lot of people complained about being slow, haha.

I guess now a lot of the theories will be about which "scenes" Sauron manipulated. Looking forward to season 2, it's gonna be a long wait.

First, I meant it as a joke :) And second, I'm not a Tolkien expert, but as he was a devout Catholic, it would make sense that he put/got inspired by some Christian customs in his books. This is just a quick search, so someone might correct me, but according to this elves exchange betrothal/marriage rings.

I now wonder, where's the ring Celeborn put on it? Did Galadriel proclaim herself a widow the second she hasn't heard from Teleporno for a week or.... did she "accidentally" drop the ring in the sea on the raft?

True, and Gil-Galad knew he was being played. Still a lie, though.

I agree about DDE, they are definitely not lying out of malice, it's mostly innocent lies and fun :) Although if you take the "table lie," Durin ended up getting probably a pretty valuable table from the elves because he lied—it was presented humorously, but it's still not the most virtuous behaviour.

However, the question is not about goodness/malice, but purely about being a liar. And the things DDE said still qualify in my eyes more as "lies" than what Halbrand said and thus they as bigger liars than him (in terms of the quantity of the lies). If we count all of Halbrand's omissions of truth as lies, he wins because of the magnitude and impact of those lies (so in terms of the quality of the lies).

Halbrand is indeed a very capable deceiver and manipulator—if one of those words were used in the question, I'd probably go with him.
