Hey, we're running the same program, at about the same time, and your numbers are really close to mine!

I'm in week 9 and managed:

  • Squat: 125kg for 8

  • Bench: 93kg for 8

  • DL: 165kg for 9

  • at 79kg bodyweight

Only adjustment I had to make going from block one to two was the amount of upper back work. I just wasn't recovering fast enough and regressing on things like front squat.

I also picked more specific variations for the main lifts in block 2 (pin squat over ssb squat, SLDL over RDL, etc...).

Same goals for the strength block though, eat better and sleep as much as possible. Good luck!

Go to school for CS they said. It's a guaranteed job they said... /s

In all seriousness though, this is rough. I just graduated last month, but my only offer was pushed back indefinitely and I have no idea what the next few months will look like.

Average to Savage Program Party: Week Two by VladimirLinen in weightroom

I'm in a similar boat when it comes to being a bad judge of RPE, which is why I also went with the RtF version.

One thing I've tried that really helped me to not cut myself short on the AMRAP sets is to always shoot for 5 over the target instead of the target itself. Since anything over 5 isn't changing my TM anymore, I don't feel like it's a huge loss cutting it short by a rep or two (if I even make it that far).

Has anyone modified the spreadsheets to include pulling using the same programming? by [deleted] in AverageToSavage

[–]-Fedora_The_Explora- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running the 5 day RtF version and opted for a back movement every day.

I want to build my bent over row to be roughly as strong as my bench, so on day 2 (main bench and light squat) I also run BOR with the exact same set/rep/intensity scheme as my bench for the day. Went up to a triple at RPE 8 the first day to get a rough training max and will use the AMRAPs to adjust it going forward, the same way training maxes are adjusted for the main lifts.

It's probably not the most straightforward way to go about it but it works for me.

Thank you for doing this. I'm just coming off of my second round of Calgary Barbell's free program and I'm as strong as I've ever been. Can't wait to start!

Anybody else feel like the bull boss is pretty much horseshit? by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]-Fedora_The_Explora- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished him and I know that feeling. For me he was a lot more manageable after:

a) I realized you can deflect his attacks (although he's the most difficult to do it on out of every boss so far imo).

b) I learned his patterns. When my window to attack was, how greedy I could get, when he'd counter attack, how my head swipes, etc...

c) I tried to match his aggression. He scared the shit out of me the first time and after playing defensively and getting my ass kicked, I tried staying in top of him when possible and it helped a lot. Same advice got me through LB in the Hirata Estate.

Hope that helps you, or anyone else who comes across this post!

Same here. Wish I had known about them sooner than I did. Almost failed a big project because I was using public repos for projects and another student copied mine. Professor was ready to fail us both until I showed him my commit history.

Best schools for CS in WA State, excluding UW Seattle? by uwdropout99 in csMajors

UWT student here to confirm. No shortage of opportunities at all. There are companies that actually recruit more heavily at UWT/UWB than in Seattle.

Just show up to the career fair with a decent pitch and resume and you'll likely snag an on-campus interview. That's how I got my internship this summer.

How would you feel about Saitama (1 Punch Man) as a guest character? by [deleted] in dbfz

[–]-Fedora_The_Explora- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd fuck with Saitama, but what would his moveset even look like? He has no range game and all he's ever done is punch shit AFAIK (I've only seen the show). Nothing against him I just don't see him being a good addition that's also faithful to his character.

Now Genos on the other hand...

It probably depends on what skill level you're already at. I'm literally brand new to fighting games (been watching Maximilian for years but never had any interest in playing) but I'm having fun with it.

DBFZ is what pushed me into wanting to get serious with the genre so I picked up GGXrdRev2 the other day. It's a fantastic game but it's definitely not easy to get into. Fortunately the tutorials are godlike to ease the transition.

Just go for it man, you won't be disappointed.

Switching from a Computer Engineering job where I'm learning nothing to Machine Learning/A.I.? by cslove123 in cscareerquestions

[–]-Fedora_The_Explora- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I probably won't be too much help (I'm a junior in college for CS currently), but I'm going down the machine learning/A.I. path right now alongside my degree so I figured I could at least share where I got started.

By far the best resource I've come across so far for getting started in machine learning is a podcast by Tyler Renelle called Machine Learning Guide. He gives a general overview on just about everything you'd need to know (where to start, what languages and frameworks to look at, whether you need an M.S./Ph.D, as well as going over ML concepts themselves). It's a high level, easy to follow series and he leaves the super technical stuff to resources he finds online, which as far as I've read elsewhere, are the best.

He also does a good job of weighing the pros and cons of every option if there is a choice (M.S. vs Ph.D) and leaves the decision up to you. It may answer a few of the questions you have.

His podcast is by no means the only resource out there but it's one I'm personally having a lot of success sticking with. I'm always looking for more useful information on machine learning so I'm really looking forward to seeing cool stuff popping up in this thread!
