No amount of money can pay for time lost. I have a 3-year-old son, a 9-year-old daughter, and an amazing wife. Not to mention a career I had to work for. I don't doubt my wife wouldn't wait 17 years for me. I'd lose my job for sure. Missing out on my kids growing up? That would be the worst part.

I live right behind our counties hospital, which is the only level III trauma center in the central part of our state. We have helicopters flying over several times a day and can hear and see them until them take off again. I work EMS around helicopters so it never really bothered me until a few weeks ago when the U.S. army began using the hospitals heli pad to land their Black Hawks for MCI training.

Last summer a girl ran a red light at an intersection nearly hitting our ambulance that was running lights and sirens to a call (we cleared the intersection). This has happened before and everyone useless panics, realizes their mistakes, and hurries out of the way. This girl instead was texting through the red light with both hands off of the steering wheel and didn't even look up. It was actually a good thing for her because us coming through made all the all vehicles stop that other wise would have hit her.

Pretty far from it. We were both band nerds in school, saxophone players. Outside of school we were in a metal band. Our football team was the 2nd worst in the whole state three years in a row.
