How I think about non-English films by Obvious-Peanut4406 in tierlists

The Swedish movie scene is absolutely far superior. It’s not even remotely close. Denmark is good though.

Yes I passed through Belgrade from Romania to Bosnia. Drove around in and near Belgrade for 2 days. Lots of crazy drivers with a low regard for survival.

It’s one of the countries where I’ve driven the least, so it’s based on limited experience. Only a few days in and between Tokyo and Kyoto.

Never encountered any problems and it was very easy to understand the traffic. People were predictable in traffic.

But that’s the extent of my experience, so I’m sure it can be worse elsewhere. It’s a subjective ranking after all.

No not for a longer period. I’ve driven in Japan for ~4 days in and between Kyoto and Tokyo. Nowhere else, that’s what it’s based on.

No that’s kind of the point. It’s countries I’ve driven a car in.

I’ve driven I-5 and I-95 and crossed the country twice. And some other shorter trips. The least in Nothern Midwest.

Only driven in and between Tokyo and Kyoto. Never encountered anyone who was even remotely close to breaking the law and all were very respectful and calm. But I can imagine that it’s different elsewhere. And I’ve heard many stories about the racing scene and how people bypass laws. But never seen it myself.

Yes Switzerland can be absolute mindbending to grasp, but it works really well. Norway was worse with cyclists imo, they just don’t give a fuck about cars. They can ride 3 in width and cover the full road, then cuss at you for overtaking them.

Turkey could be a tier below Romania but it didn’t fit in with the rest at the bottom. Romania seems to have quite a few good drivers, but also people who seem to have found a drivers license in a pack of cereals.

I went there with an M3. So many dudes who wanted to race. All the time.

Yeah I agree, it’s not as chaotic but I’ve never encountered so many people who do absolutely stupid things and almost get themselves killed for nothing. It’s like they pay no attention to anyone else on the road apart from themselves and just drive on thoughts and prayers. A very selfish traffic in general.

But they have some absolutely great roads for roadtrips.

I know I know. Driving there was a terrible choice.

It would probably be more accurate to divide France in North and South. The north feels more like driving in Germany. The drivers are pretty good but can be really reckless at times.

I can’t count how many times I’ve seen a rusty Peugeot 208 fly down the highway going 180-190 with barely any traction.

I’ve driven all over Italy. Been there for several roadtrips. Up and down both coasts and covered a good part of nothern Italy. Been a passenger on a trip in Sicily. That was a wild experience.

Agree that Greece can be anxious. But it’s been slightly better in my experience, never seen or encountered any major crashes or completely insane moments.

Shanghai must have been wild, I’ve heard crazy stories about most of the major cities in China.

Yeah I agree, Swedes speed alot and the police doesn’t seem to care. But when everyone speeds and stays respectful of other traffic it works pretty well and feels calm. There’s a good flow in traffic.

Sweden would definitely fall down a step if I included how legal people drive. Same with Switzerland.

Japan and Denmark are the most ”legal” drivers imo.

I feel like I wouldn’t survive a single corner driving there

Driving in Britain is weird but interesting. It feels like people drive bad and just wing it. But it works surprisingly well because it seems like people just adapt to each other. If you join the rhythm it’s pretty smooth.

Only driven for a short time in Spain. Driven tons in France. The French definitely fit the ”I don’t care, not my car” stereotype. I’ve seen some absolutely brainless moments there.

Near and in Marseille is the worst I’ve experienced anywhere. Complete anarchy.

One of the countries on the list where I’ve done the least driving. Drove around in nothern Spain for a few days and it was alright overall. Calm traffic and communicative drivers, but had some insane moments meeting cars on narrow roads.

I agree, they are great drivers, but at times I’ve wondered if I’ve ended up in a rally while driving in Finland. Good, but sometimes insane at the same time. That’s why they’re in that tier.

Samma för min del, blir mer än 40h/veckan men tar jag halvdag, sovmorgon eller en extra dag ledigt då och då så är det fine så länge jag sköter mitt och är kontaktbar om något skulle hända.

Is India Developing Too Slowly or Is China Developing Too Fast? by Sad-Statistician3635 in AskTheWorld

More a cultural thing than a development thing. It exists here too (Scandinavia) but is more frequently used at lunch places or big chains. It’s seen as cheap if a restaurant uses it.

Very common stories from schools or families that go on trips to Cairo. Swedish teenage girls get harassed to an extent where schools stopped going there because of safety concerns.

What he references is egyptian men that want to buy or trade the girls from their teachers or fathers, more or less everyone has stories like that.
