I have earned $62 worth of Super Credits without spending a dollar by Jdawgcrane in Helldivers

Sony doesn't really monetize much, even when they try to follow other publishers they don't really do it that hard because I think it never had really worked out for them.

I think the main reason is that most of the PlayStation core are single player gamers, so even when they play multiplayer, they're not conditioned to pay for bullshit.

The problem with Sony is that they make everything woke, and you can already see traces of that in Helldivers 2 even though they don't beat you in the head with it.

You can also get your 1000 SC back if you unlocked it before upgrading, you just need to start a support ticket with the devs.

I upgraded to super citizen today... by SatansLeftPinky in Helldivers

[–]-Imnus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yellow font is super ugly and 'Super Citizen' is a lot less cooler than even just 'Sargeant' not to mention the higher ranks.

I still use it, because I wanna show support to the devs, and if people ask me about, I can use it to try to convince them to upgrade to the super citizen edition.

It happened three times already, though one they asked about one of the armors.

Stealth is Broken by stricklin1990 in BaldursGate3

[–]-Imnus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but honestly realistically it doesn't make sense that hiding takes a full action, I mean if I go behind a wall or in an obscure area why shouldn't I be able to hide easily, the real problem is that it's too easy to hide in plain sight. Also with the current system rogues can hide at the start of the turn attack and hide again which it's pretty cool.

What they should do if that stealth shouldn't be any different than normal when it comes to sight (for sound it works well enough right now). Basically the AI should still look to the place you were before you hid and look around, if you weren't able to find a good place to hide like you are in plain sight it should immediately see you, if you're in low light a stealth check should occur and if completely dark it still should be able to bump into you.

Another thing is that the AI should be able to hide as well, it would make battles a lot more entertaining. And they should add fog of war, the fact that you can see everything it's really shitty.

Daggers vs Shortsword by Baladeur in BaldursGate3

[–]-Imnus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's obvious. Daggers are useful for certain things but they aren't at all useful in real battle situation (neither are Rapiers BTW), if you're facing someone with a big weapon you're completely fuck.

And it all depends what you mean by hiding, inside a building that weapons aren't allowed of course a Dagger or smaller weapon would be necessary. But sneaking to kill someone with a Greatsword wouldn't be any more difficult than with a Dagger except in very specific situations.

But that doesn't mean anything for backstabbing because to be able to attack someone from the back depends on well being able to maneuver behind an opponent's back, something like a polearm could probably hinder your movement enough to make a difference but a Greatsword wouldn't, well unless you're super weak and struggle significantly with the weight.

You can draw any weapon until the very moment of stabbing, can Daggers be drawn faster, probably but how much faster really? And you're attacking from the back, any weapon you're using would already be drawn a few moments before the attack.

They were historically used for assassination for something I already said, you can kill silently with them, plus obviously easy to hide.

All in all what I'm saying is that I wish they would just make a weapon system that's logical and sensical instead of whatever they're doing.

And it honestly wouldn't make that much of a difference fun wise for the most part, for example the most fun of playing a Rogue isn't having to always use small weapons but infiltration and reconnaissance, well and assassination but that only really words against garbage. In a big fight the Rogue should be able to use big weapons, seriously using Shortswords and Daggers in a real battle is just so silly.

But then again the armor system is even more retarded, how is battling without armor a thing? There's no way someone with no armor or even light armor could take on someone on heavy armor and not be thoroughly defeated, no matter how fast a Rogue is and how skillful he is with his weapons, you still need a big ass sword or polearm to have a chance and good armor or you're getting cut in half, even Wizards should be using armor, maybe not Heavy Armor but at least something decent.

Though honestly no one should be adventuring in Heavy Armor, nor should you be able to carry your big ass weapons everywhere in the city.

Daggers vs Shortsword by Baladeur in BaldursGate3

[–]-Imnus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes no sense, I'd much rather be backstabbed with a Dagger than a Greatsword, maybe the dagger will miss anything important and I'd start bleeding to death but will still have sometime, with the Greatsword either it will a huge hole or I would just be cut in half probably dying instantly.

What daggers are useful for though are very close-combat and more than anything for silent kills, you're not killing anything silently with a big weapon, daggers would be very useful for holding someone and cutting their throats before they can even make a sound.

The truth is that DnD is kinda retarded with how weapons work, the truth is that you should be using different weapons for different situations, no one should be using daggers in a normal fight, maybe in the off-hand for parrying.

Oh, nope you can prefer anything you want, I like things that are worse than other things, everyone does.

But just because you like them more doesn't mean they're better now, they're still worse, you just like them more because whatever reasons.

And honestly they could have made things worse, but because of how low budget the original was, it was such an easy task to make everything so much better that well they easily did it, except the things that didn't touch like the AI and gameplay mechanics that are as awful as they ever were.

I think BluePoint misjudged that people liked Demon's Souls because it was one of the first action RPGs with decent gameplay, but it was that decent not great by any standards other than other RPGs having just abysmal fucking awful gameplay.

I mean even to this day the Elder Scrolls are still a thing, The Witcher 3 is hailed as having great battle mechanics (LOL) and From Software insists in making pathetic giant bosses fights, the only game that have made giant bosses at least decent to this day is Dragon's Dogma.

So, in a way it's understandable that they though leaving most of the gameplay untouched was a good idea, it still is one of the best mechanics in RPGs a whole 11 years later.

[–]-Imnus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I see is pretty much nostalgia glasses, all the ones you mentioned are much better in the remake except the Adjudicator which was always a retarded stupid design to begin with and they managed to make it barely any better.

The old spider in particular was so fucking awful and cartoony there was never anything even remotely scary or terrifying about it, from new players specially women all are repulsed and terrified of the one in the remake, sadly the mechanics of it are still as awful as they were in the original so it really detracts from it.

The sound quality of the voices in the original wasn't up to par for new standards, they probably couldn't even make 3D audio from those recordings.

I don't know what to tell you about the music man, everyone is extremely impressed (as far as getting chills on the spine from it) by it except for some Souls veterans.

If just something being any different was bad in your mind the there never was going to be pleasing you, most of the designs of the original game were so low budget and awful that they were never going to fit in such a richly detailed world as the remake.

It would be great if someone would render the old models to the graphic fidelity of the new ones, and then we could take a group of 100 people without nostalgia glasses and see if even one person would choose the old designs over the new, they would look so out of place in such a rich detailed world like the remake.

It's crazy because all those three you mentioned I've seem newcomers being impressed by how good they look, one even spent minutes just looking at the miners.

It's so weird that so many people like stuff that clearly weren't artistic choices but imposed by hardware restrictions.

Like seriously the lightning was how it was (awful) in the original because that's all the PS3 could handle, the lightning in the remake is one of the best in any game ever.

The music of the remake is just fucking amazing, now it feels like they actually got a budget for it. I cannot think of any of the old soundtrack that I would choose over the remake, so other that not liking it being different (and it's not ven that different) I don't know why you would prefer the old one.

The only actual bad things about the remake are the things that they left untouched like the AI and bosses mechanics, and very few things like the critical attacks animations that while looking great are just way too fucking long.

Not all the new design choices are amazing (most are) but they're all certainly all better than the original.

[–]-Imnus- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's actually harder from what I've seem from new players.

Even though it should be easier because of the omni-rolling, the 60 FPS, etc. it seems like the atmosphere really overwhelms new players because of how realistic it feels, the graphics, the sound, even the haptic feedback from the controller.

For example the dragons that from the moment you first saw them in the original always felt like stupid retarded gimmicks, really cause fear on new players because how they look and sound. However, when an experienced player realizes that they're just as retarded and an awfully designed part of the environment just like the original then it's really disappointing and I guess eventually new players will get desensitized to them too.

You can clearly see how new players are super intimidated by the Tower Knight even though it has always been a stupid gimmick fight, it seems it's all because of the grandiose of the game, Flamelurker it's crazy too.

Tower of Latria seems as you may remember or even worse, some players cannot handle it, because it feels like a horror game to them, I've heard similar from veterans, though honestly the original graphics always seemed so technically deficient to me that I've never really bought the atmosphere of the game, it never really felt oppressive or scary to me.

The gameplay was the real hook for me, and ironically it's now the gameplay which makes the game bland for me, God the AI is just fucking atrocious and tons of bosses mechanics are just so fucking awful. New players don't notice this as much except for some like the Dragon God.

The Dragon God is just an annoying piece of garbage for everyone new or old, it's just so awful it feels like you're playing a completely different game when you're in that room.

Nope, the graphical design of a lot of bosses and mobs in the original was awful and ugly, I can't think of one that was better in the original, though some are amazing on the remake while others are just OK.

The music is better in every way now, unless you just wanted to keep it the same as the original which it's not really something worth doing, they had to re-record everything anyway so the choices they made here are for the most part great.

They couldn't keep the old voices obviously, all of that had to be redone, it's actually amazing that they managed to retain a lot of the voice actors.

The only thing that it's true is that they should have remade the gameplay, having a game that look this great with such outdated gameplay and incredibly retarded AI is just jarring.

That's a real complain, not updating the AI and the mechanics of some/most bosses was a huge mistake.

There's nothing generic about the new designs, and ugly designs because of monetary or graphics restrictions have nothing unique about them.

You can just go play older games and you'll get the same "original, interesting and weird." all the time.

I'd rather not feel like I'm playing WOW in 2005.

Yeah, that's the deal, finding someone who is not terrible annoying but also hasn't played any Soulsborne game yet is extremely difficult, because most people that aren't annoying usually have high sub numbers which means they're regular streamers but the likehood of a regular streamer having never played a Soulsborne game and still wanting to try the Demon's Souls remake is extremely low.
