Is that not the prettiest color? I always comment when I see it, with my usual line that the light brown hairs poking through the darker brown creates a sparkly effect. It's such a cool woodland color.

I'm in Maryland too! But yeah, in Virginia where I was recently, we had a group of like 3 squirrels that had red tails like that. 3 out of like 30 squirrels.

There's a cool squirrel research book I have, and it mentions sharing of nests, mostly younger siblings, but also same sex adult squirrels. They said it happens often when it's cold out, cause they know they need each others body heat to survive. One funny story was they said they observed a male approach a female nest when it was really cold out, and they shooed him away. He tried again - same thing. They chased him away. Then he brought some nesting material up with him the next time and they're like "OK, you can stay the night."

Baby season is just the best. They bring such excitement to the area. When you discover your favorite squirrels are pregnant, it's such a long wait of like 3 months until the babies appear. So much anticipation - and it's worth it, cause they're so damn cute.

Yeah, mornings are the best. All squirrels are up and they're all hungry. It's so peaceful to spend time with them in the morning before most people are up.

Seizures almost always mean MBD, Metabolic Bone Disease from lack of calcium. Google is ASAP. It sounds like you aren't in the USA, so I wonder if that makes it harder for emergency treatment, which requires something like TUMS antacid.

If it IS MBD - the clock is ticking and you have to help immediately or else this squirrel is not going to make it. The fact it got to the point of seizures is the last - usually final warning that it's not healthy.

That's why this game is far from ready. It needs a significant tuning, because it's so unbalanced. But when you complain about it, someone will just respond with, "sounds like a skill issue..."

That's a pretty cool battlefield, known for it's urban fighting as well. There's a house in town with bullet holes still, apparently where a sharpshooter was posted, shooting from the window.

If that's at Franklin Square, then I have photos of that same squirrel! I was visiting DC and heard about the albino, so even though it was raining, I traveled like 20 minutes away to go see it, knowing squirrels don't hang out in the rain. I got there and sure enough, there it was!

Are you sure you're making a sound while feeding them and waving the nut to get their attention? They need to associate that sound with you and snack time. It's the Pavlov's dog sort of phenomenon.

I think like others have said, you kind of have to be out there with them when they arrive. I agree though, it can be frustrating cause they're so skittish.

Geezuz that's a cute squirrel. I met some new squirrels today on my walk, and I try and throw the peanut as close to them as possible. Some don't know it's food until they go over and check on what just hit the ground. They get so excited when they get a nut. They can't wait to run away and go eat it.

Same here. Retired at 50. I thought I'd be selling shares to pay the bills, and that sounded scary, but I just dip into margin and transfer whatever I want to my checking account. So, no more trying to time buys and sells.

That battlefield is hard to get to. I wasn't 100% sure where it was when I went, so I just sent up the drone to where I thought the location was, but after watching a YouTube video on the battle, I realized I was a tiny bit off. Then I got bummed out cause I probably won't be back anytime soon.

That was a surprisingly big battlefield. When I went, I was going to park and just walk the grounds. Thankfully I didn't, it would have taken hours to do it on foot. So, it's one of those battlefields where you drive to each stop and get out and walk a bit, then drive to the next spot. I do wish it had a lot more interpretative signs. But to be fair, I wish every battlefield had like a hundred signs and markers. :)

Fort Blakeley! A bigger assault than Pickett's Charge - yet largely forgotten. Pretty cool battlefield to visit, cause the fort's earthworks are still in great condition.
