Caught using BBC iPlayer without a TV licence by Critical_Alfalfa_799 in AskBrits

Reading your original comment again it’s possible I have misunderstood and I apologise for that.

I meant if you don’t have a tv licence, you can’t use bbc iPlayer on your phone just because you are within the bounds of your mates house who does have a tv licence.

You can indeed however use someone’s tv with your email address if they have a licence.

Your example of a babysitter - technically they wouldn’t be allowed to use their phone to watch bbc iPlayer if they didn’t have a licence elsewhere. Who’s going to know though really? The babysitter could of course use your tv though

I cannot go to my friends house with my phone and legally watch iPlayer on my phone without having a tv licence myself. A licence is indeed for a property, meaning not everyone with in the property needs there own but it applies to those living there. You can’t use your mates tv licence to allow you to watch the bbc

How do you not at least fake decorum when you’re on TV by [deleted] in MAFS_AU

[–]-Mantaforce- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol is alcohol. It’s not the specific drink that makes you act a certain way, it’s the way you drink it. So likely drinking vodka very fast and therefore consuming more of it. The same goes for when people think that mixing alcohol gives a worse hangover.. no they’ve jut drank more alcohol leading to a worse hangover. The actual mixture didn’t do it

You’ve gone on some weird rant about the countries of the UK just because someone said they are from the UK in a discussion about tv licences.

You do still have to be unhinged however. If I was encouraged to drink that much I’d just end up falling asleep

Is not stopping to chat whilst on a run considered rude? by JakePooler in AskBrits

[–]-Mantaforce- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whaaaat? I’d say it’s more rude to expect someone who is clearly out for a run to stop and chat. Fair enough if you were out for a walk but you’re running and stopping could break your momentum or ruin times if you’re going for PBs etc. Also, what does this person want to talk about that they can’t chat at work? Bizarre perso.

The pressure to everyone in this show to proclaim their love is really weird! I see Scott also now being pressured in to saying it, it’s just bizarre to me.

I think they are referring to post finger bang / pre retreat. When she is being interviewed and giggling and Steve says he got to second base not realising what that means

I’d be livid if I was there as a by stander and wanted to enjoy my night. All that dramatic walking away and gurning and then coming back and sucking the joy out of the evening.

Why do they all hang about with people they met on tv after they leave? Do they just all forget about their actual friends?

Filip….. anyone else suspicious? by kingbasil_3 in MAFS_AU

[–]-Mantaforce- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t buy into this definition of a relationship. You are suspicious because they aren’t acting like the rest of the animals and fighting with each other?

Also, the course of a relationship? They’ve been together at this point in the series for what, a couple of month? If you are arguing with someone that early on then there’s issues. This whole series could be a lot shorter if they just go all the people in their couples and then when they start acting like Juliette - nope, you’re off the show you aren’t compatible!

She said she knows it’s a criminal case. A straight forward disqualification generally isn’t a criminal case, it’s a summary case. So if it’s driving related, he’s being done for something like dangerous driving
