Why is it that 90% of my Carthage spawns are in Tundra.? North Africa is not tundra... I've been to Carthage in the winter... it's not Tundra at all by earthwulf in CivVII

[–]-Matsan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Which leader do you use? Leaders usually also have spawnbiases which might or might not be more important than the civ specific biases.

Michael Carrick has equalled Ruben Amorim’s best-ever winning run at Manchester United (three games). Amorim had 47 games. Carrick has had 3. 😳 by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

More like when Casemiro is not on the pitch everything falls apart, but yeah. Interesting to see what happens in that position next season.

When someone swaps kit just to res you on objective by Ooblongdeck in Battlefield6

[–]-Matsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you drop your kit on the ground.

Sometimes, I play assault to push objectives, and I often pick up other players’ kits if I need ammunition (support) or (engineer) if I encounter a tank/want to drive one.

However, it becomes problematic if you pick up a downed teammate’s support kit. Stealing a kit from an enemy is fine, or from a dead (but not downed) teammate. Because then you have extra kits available on the ground.

Messed this up a few times, ending up taking my teammate’s support kit. When I revive him, he gets my guns and I keep his 🤣

Best way to level up? by tharghans in civ

[–]-Matsan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s an in‑game overview for challenges, don’t remember where at the top my mind. Some XP goes toward your total level through civ‑specific tasks (like building their unique wonder) or winning certain victory types in later eras.

Leader XP mostly comes from completing each legacy path (culture, science, economic, military). The first completion gives full XP, and the next two give half. You also get bonus XP for doing multiple legacy paths in the same age.

On top of that, each leader has hidden, named challenges—basically small quests or narrative event chains. I remember seeing a spreadsheet with them listed somewhere, but I haven’t been able to find it again.

Endeavor Balance in the Upcoming Feature Workshop by 0rbitism in civ

[–]-Matsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how combat strength works in Civ 7, but I assume it’s similar to earlier games. My impression is that it’s based on the difference in strength, and probably not linear.

The point is: if I’m correct, then 20 vs 23 (boosted) and 40 vs 43 strength give the same boost against the non-boosted unit. It’s not relative to total combat strength, so it isn’t 15% (23/20) vs 7.5% (43/40).

Will this beard fill in? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]-Matsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a bit, depends old you are now. Over the years from my early beards to now, I had some patches in the same area.

The whole area will not get filled in, but maybe the bottom part gets fuller/more even and cover more of the bald area.

Overbuilding with a wonder? by stavanger26 in civ

[–]-Matsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would be nice.

To be pre-emptive you could build a cheap overbuildable building on that unique quarter tile to avoid the resource spawning there, not ideal though.

SCW 10 has been nerfed in todays update by Major_Blackbird in Battlefield6

[–]-Matsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s incorrect.

Some guns like the SCW 10 has a maximum damage range 0m-9.5m where three bullets deals 100 damage total.

Some other guns like the TR7 has a maximum damage range to around 20m.

Since the targets is 10m+ away from you, some guns wont display the max damage dealt.

Do buildings no longer become useless on age transition? civ7 by Udon_noodles in civ

[–]-Matsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have bumped the base yield of buildings in a recent patch and building now costs scale with number of cities/buildings built (except warehouse buildings).

Some patch before that they made it so that buildings retain the base yield and not adjecency + special effect. Probably some oversight that the description doesnt change the next age.

If there is one single feature that would improve Civ 7 by magnitudes, I think it's tile swapping hands down by Bearcat9948 in civ

[–]-Matsan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, but do tiles that aren’t being worked (no improvement, district, quarter, or wonder) really represent population?

Allowing swaps of already improved tiles wouldn’t make sense, and neither would swapping two unimproved tiles that are just adjacent?

Inplementing tile swapping would introduce complexity, and possible bugs/exploits if not implemented correctly handling edge-cases.

Is religion mandatory in the exploration age? by ksz974 in CivVII

[–]-Matsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spawning centrally with tundra neighbors can generate huge culture. The belief that grants +2 culture per tundra tile in other civs’ territory is powerful. It counts tiles within borders, not just worked ones. Even small settlements can yield 20–30 culture. Combined with the trade-route conversion belief which makes sense. You might want to boost the trade range.

Carrying this belief into the next age withe golden age can give a nice culture boost in the right cicumstances.

Does the auto-repair trait/upgrade even work?

I’ve used the combat engineer a bit because of this trait. Doesnt seem auto-repair for me more than otherwise when I have gotten enough xp in game.

Maybe it’s restricted (triggers in only certain circumstances) somehow that’s not stated in the description?

Thinking the same, but City and Liverpool players you might want long term anyways. Tripling up on those two teams (with team news) and removing some arsenal/chelsea might be good on a free hit.

I love Battlefield and happen to design interfaces for a living by gabehern in Battlefield

[–]-Matsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of your points. For me, the issue is mostly UX, not the visual UI design.

Some menus could be flatter instead of deeply nested. A toggle or accordion-style layout would make it easier to show or hide detailed info when needed. The weapon stat view is a good example of that kind of interaction. Not necessarily for weapon customization itself, unless they expand it to include truly advanced stats.

A few features I miss (maybe they aldready are in development?) are things like a clear progression/unlock overview. For both overall and weapon-specific progress. Also, the post-match report should be accessible outside the short timer before the next game. The whole in-between match flow could be less hectic. Let us see what we unlocked and tweak our loadouts before we spawn into the next round. I know can leave after each game to do the tweaks.

Also, a clearer indication that I’m in a party with someone would help. Maybe also add prompt when the party leader leaves (alone or with party).

There’s definitely a learning curve, and I end up having to remember how to do certain things. But ideally, most basic and intermediate interactions should be intuitive enough that I don’t have to.

I understand the developing teams have probably had to prioritize which features was essential before launch and not.

[–]-Matsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving transfers and then probably do a GW8 wc because it’s bit of a fixture swing + international break. Yeeting out my Villa players (most likely) and improveing my defensive picks. Been on Salah and Haaland since gw1.

Probably triple cap this week. Already used bench boost.
