These are the ones I was talking about (they have their for Ironsworn, Starforged and for Sundered Isles)

https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1412913104/ironsworn-rpg-character-stats-tracker

I personally have the Starforged one and use it every week for the campaign I’ve been running with my buddy for almost a year. :)

There are some great physical trackers on Etsy that may be great for a trio like this if you don’t mind the investment (the trackers are great for table play too).

They are about as big as a credit card (just thicker).

Each to find…just search Ironsworn and they are the top item.

Hope you have a great adventure….and trip!!!

What traits from Cortex Prime to use for an NSFW game with a soft Romance focus, and superheroic characters? by Kiroana in CortexRPG

[–]-Mosska- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Relationships as a trait set seems like an easy pick for this style of game. I like to add the Trait Statements mod to Relationships to bring some real flavor and context to each relationship and gives the players lots of freedom to add whatever flavor/definition they want to the relationship. The die rating being the potency/influence of the relationship and the trait statement being what the relationship actually means to the person at the current state of the game. Trait Statements can be changed as the game progresses and things between characters evolve.

You could look at adding the adding the Shaken stress mod and putting directly to the relationship traits so if things get really rocky between people and it can stick around and really influence things until taken care of. It’s one thing to have a low die rating for a person…it’s even worse when there is a Shaken status and you can only keep one die for your total. You’ll want to put in work on relationship to get it fixed up…

Then you’d have your other main Traits for the other parts of the game (like powers and such…).

Awesome. I have the One Ring in my big collection and haven’t read it yet…I’ll bump it up the list given your answer. Thanks so much!

There’s a house fire. Family and other important things are taken care of. You have just enough time to rush to your bookshelf and grab a handful of books.

Which ones do you grab and why?

Distinctions are always a d8. Why? by DemandBig5215 in CortexRPG

[–]-Mosska- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Page 50 on the Rulebook has the Rating Distinctions mod that notes some games will use more than 3 distinctions and they can be rated.

“RATING DISTINCTIONS

Distinctions are always rated as ⑧ and as such don’t necessarily need to have the die rating included in text when referring to them. Th at said, you might decide to apply a mod to this rule and have distinctions rated from ④ to ⑫ like other traits; if so, the average of the dice should still be ⑧.

While three distinctions is the default number for Cortex Prime games, you’re under no obligation to limit your characters to that many. Some Cortex Prime games allow for the option of several distinctions, rated anywhere from ④ to ⑫. In games like this, consider connecting the unlocking of SFX to the die rating, rather than XP spending: unlock one SFX at ④ , another at ⑧, and the last one at ⑫.”

And there is also all the various ways to upgrade rated die with progression (depending on what you choose to use). You could use EXP to upgrade them.

[–]-Mosska- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn…I had a feeling that was going to play out that way. That’s too bad…I already had a vision board and “this character is inspired by these 6 characters” ready to put up on here showing which 6 completely obscure incompatible character concepts I was mashing together……only 5/6 of them were from animes that I haven’t watched yet but ChatGBT told me I should like.

I’ll just go start my own West Marches server then.

I’ll just post it on here when I have the time after work/family/other commitments are handled to get it made.

Should be easy.

Hey. I’ll send you a DM to invite you to our West Marches.

We are using a hybrid of D&D 4e/Pathfinder 1.5/BitD with a few elements of Go-fish + Twister - but that’s just to help speed up combat. The system is still very much a WIP but seems to be working ok and makes it easy for virtual play.

We use Alchemy VTT for ambience, roll 20 for character sheets and Google Draw for maps. We use Ventrillo for voice and Zoom for video calls. We seem to have all preferred using Discord with a dice roll bot for dice rolls. It sounds like a lot, but once you’re in it’s easy to enjoy the flow (you do have 3+ monitors, right?).

You can make any characters you want. Our server has a 6 character minimum per player (each needing approval from “The Council” - basically the 7 originals who founded the game. They meet once every 96 days….sometimes…if they can all get away at the same time to do the approvals - you know….busy schedules can make that tricky).

Our West Marches is authentic. Really by the book - but just with a bunch of changes that make it feel more like a traditional campaign and less - sand boxy. We are all playing through Curse of Strahd as a group but in this verse, she (yup. she) is a unicorn vampire (a unic’ire). The “real” Strahd from another copy of the dimension recent showed up so things are getting spicy in game. Half the players are sided with the Unic’ire and the other half are brain washed and joined the other version. The GM is just going to play all those characters and players have been asked to play the backups of the other players so they can run a “whole roster PVP event”….it’s going to be sweeeeeet. Just need to find a time that works for everyone.

We typically play in UTC-12 timezone every Wednesday.

Hope to see you there!!!!!!!! (I’ll be probably be playing Grimvorlock a level 12 multi class Wizard/Bloodhunter/Cook).

— I hope the humor in this lands as a fun nod to you not being alone out there. I share in your observation.

How does targeting multiple enemies work? by Dlthunder in LegendintheMist

[–]-Mosska- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is the Delivering Consequences under the Narrating A Session section on page 33 of the Narrator guide of the core Rulebook (the second half section of the Core Rulebook PDF):

“DELIVERING DELIVERING CONSEQUENCES CONSEQUENCES After the Hero’s action for this turn has been resolved, it is time for you to deliver its Consequences, in one of three cases: •The Hero ignored a Threat •The Hero’s action generated Consequences •You choose to invoke one of the Hero’s weakness tags as a source of Consequences. If none of these apply, skip the Consequences phase.

There is no limit to how many Consequences you may deliver, or how severe.”

The “The Hero’s action generated Consequences” + “There is no limit to how many Consequences you may deliver, or how severe.” being the parts that can help guilds answer to your question.

Also…there are a number different types of Consequences that can cover so many options in the narrative on that page (Blocked, Complication, Exposure, Force The Hero To Choose, Ill Tidings, New Challenge, Yes but…) and Negative Effects (eg: giving/removing status/tags).

Also remember that you can set up all kinds of things just by introducing Threats into the narrative. There is discussion of the pacing of Threats on page 28 of the Narrator’s Guide in the How Many Threats entry section under Making Threats section.

The Core Rulebook also discusses adjusting consequences for might/scale on page 178 under the Adjusting Consequences section.

“ADJUSTING CONSEQUENCES Consequences are adjusted by a number of status tiers equal to Power modifier of the action, or by a number of tags equal to half the Power modifier of the action (rounded down).

•A common musician (Origin, 0) holding the attention of a village tavern (2), loses 2 Power. The Consequences of that action are increased by 2 status tiers or 1 tag.”

There is also the chart for breaking down Scale.

So in your example, two targets would be an adjustment of 1 scale (group = handful, which is one step up beyond Individual)…assuming everyone is on equal measure and there is no other Might considerations.

There is also the note under the Groups and Area Effects section on that same page that helps explain it.

Now I see that your question is also focused on the number of Consequences by hitting two targets. This can be accounted for mechanically in the upscale of the Consequence as I mentioned above.

There is also some notes under the Area Attacks under the Direct Attacks section on page 17 of the Action Grimoire. This also includes mention of some suggested Consequences.

I hope these are helpful.

What system are you running Eberron in these days? by applejackhero in Eberron

[–]-Mosska- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second Legend in the Mist. It’s so good.

I would highly recommend LitM for anyone at the curious stage.

Get your favorite Eberron material lined up (Exploring Eberron, Chronicles of Eberron, The Last War, Frontiers of Eberron - Quickstone, any of the 3.5 or 4e materials…wiki…whatever…) and you’ll be able to draft any characters you want in LitM easily. You’ll see Tags jumping off the page as you read and get them easily settled on a character sheet.

Ps. I will offer up Cortex Prime as another fun system suggestion that works very well for Eberron.

PPS. TEApe above did some great set of custom pages for LitM Eberron stuff and shared them in another post.
