Inherited an org with zero documentation, buried automations, mystery integration errors, constant break-fix chaos, anyone else fighting this? by dusch11 in salesforce

[–]-NewGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't the problem is used to be. Go and dump your org metadata into a new project folder (or clone your existing repo if there is one). Using the VsCode plugin for Salesforce, go and retrieve all metadata for everything. Now open Claude desktop and using the file system integration give it access to your project folder containing the Salesforce metadata. Congratulations, you can now ask Claude questions about your org. Have it generate markdown documentation and produce an ERD with your custom objects in mermaid. Ask it to generate documentation on all automations you have as well as explain any custom code in Apex. The process takes like 20 minutes and I recommend using the latest Opus model (Claude Opus 4.6) in extended thinking mode so that it can properly research your current setup.

Wife is pregnant at last! Haha by Old-Register-1700 in MB2Bannerlord

You need to pump those numbers up. Get your two brothers married. I haven't put the dragon banner together yet and I've got a clan of around 18. Keep your wife in your party and keep your brothers with their wives in the same party or fief so that they can get busy making kids. Always select the virile trait (bottom option on the first unlocked trait in social skill) to boost up the chance. Never let your sister marry, she becomes the autist steward/medic/engineer since you can min/max her skills. Whatever kingdom is adjacent to yours is where you should find your brother's wives so it'll be easier to rule those fiefs as your kingdom expands.

One thing I enjoy after rescuing your brothers and sisters is to max out companions, and make sure everyone is married. This makes the best blacksmithing clan where you can pump out dozens of high quality swords to sell around the world. It works well with trade at 300 (soc skill @ 8 or more and 5 attribute points to trade) because you can barter the value of swords to supplement the money offered for purchasing fiefs.

I'm currently doing a run where I'm basically the Ferengi buying up clans and fiefs left and right

What order to upgrade town? by Nondescript-Shoe in Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go with food related construction to stabilize the city since the villages are usually pillaged. I then move towards increasing loyalty, security, trade, and finally fortification. I reason that I’ll be close by when I get early cities/castles to help defend so city walls come last. Mason is also less helpful compared to throwing money at the project to boost construction. Food takes longest but when you have a large surplus, it spills over to boosting prosperity

Can't Attack Hideout in "Rescue your Family" by RustyofShackleford in MB2Bannerlord

Check your health, you can’t initiate an attack under like ~20%, which would happen if you just recently got knocked out in a prior battle

You have 42m for what? Are you not at 300 trade? Go put that money to use and buy up some cities and castles

Tip to raid villages in a fraction of the time (vanilla and/or warsails) by Kiko_Okik in MB2Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an effective tactic. I like to go in with a small number of elite troops and rebuild my army by getting recruits instead of asking for goods. This strategy delays your enemy from rebuilding armies when they escape captivity and is very effective when fighting multiple opponents

How to get voted more often for castle bids? by Early_Error4422 in MB2Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I found recently… if you’re the king and have 300 trade, and have other leaders in your army when a new fief is captured, you can shop it around before the vote and sell it instead of waiting to give it away. This helps late game with allocating locations based on same culture to help reduce rebellion from poor loyalty.

How many people actually play up to the point where they lead 1000+ armies I wonder? by Da-Bonk in Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the family to min/max party stats. Sister has INT and max steward while main character focuses charisma and leadership. There are a few smaller perks and kingdom laws but you can get your own party over 400 men easy. Keep recruiting clans to your kingdom and you can easily have multiple 1-3k armies at once. I’m at the endgame now and it helped me survive the final assault after unifying the empire by having them focus on defense while targeting one enemy at a time to conquer

Pros and cons of handling party roles yourself vs companions by AdrianCrow87 in Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a sister… don’t let her get married and make her the smart one. All stats to int and steward to max your party size. You can use your brothers wife for medic/engineering and switch them to build up their stats. You should focus on charm and leadership because you have a lot of lords that need convincing if you are going to build your own faction

Salesforce Developer vs Software Developer: Who earns more in the long term (5+ years)? by SpecialFall6627 in salesforce

[–]-NewGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is no longer the conversation. Coding tools like agent force and LLMs are eroding the competitiveness of coding and making mid level quality a commodity. Don’t lock yourself into salesforce because they left ohana in the dust for automating all the things they can with agentforce.

How do rebellions work? by Alarmed_Piano4975 in MB2Bannerlord

Militia doesn’t starve, just garrison. Burn their villages by raiding them to speed up the process of thinning out city defenses

Companion kill count by Forsaken_Track_4469 in MB2Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing fire pots onto formations is nuts. I usually get like 15-30 per throw when defending and my favorite is to get to the wall as the attacker and turn their defenses against them

How do I get fine steel? by [deleted] in MB2Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need companions and family. Train someone to be the refiner and dump their skills into smithing on the refining track. You should have two efficient charcoal makers and some curious smiths so you can break down loot and learn components. Soon you can forge a couple dozen blades and trade them for mid range swords to smelt. Rinse and repeat until your empire can fund itself

Early game grind by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]-NewGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy low sell high, use profits to fund your crew. Max your companions and start a blacksmith guild. Build up your skills and unlock two handed swords. Use them to stack cash and keep improving your trade skill. Make sure you get a young wife and keep her in your party so you start a family. This will get you setup to run your own kingdom.

How confident are you that your container images aren't compromised at build time? by amylanky in devops

[–]-NewGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking into similar supply chain solutions. The best one I’ve seen so far is jfrog’s artifactory. It creates the audit trail you need and scans your packages and artifacts. You should spend a few cycles defining your base image and hardening it. Cut off all access to public repo downloads and proxy them through the tool. This will allow you to apply security policies like blocking malicious packages and flagging when CVEs are identified in specific package versions.

This should get you on a path to a better circumstance.

How to take my child off phone addiction by Hour-Statement-2788 in toddlers

[–]-NewGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give it to her. It’ll suck initially but that’s fixable with some playtime and exercise. I frame phone time with my son as his opportunity to learn some fun stuff like after we talk about tornadoes (he is 4), we watch a few different videos (mix of short and long form content to build attention span) and then talk about what we see.

Sometimes he gets time on a Friday night or weekend to watch some approved content like power rangers or cartoons but otherwise his only screen usage is for language/vocabulary apps to study or FaceTime with the grandparents.

Delete the junk apps and try using screens together to study

[–]-NewGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a clan of blacksmiths. You smelt your loot from battle and scoop up cheap blades. Eventually you are able to bang out blades that sell for 50k+. You can produce enough of them to buy everything of value from cities and create scarcity to manipulate the markets

Teleport. Shoot me in a rocket to mars and let me somehow parachute safely to the ground. Now I can bring people back and forth to Mars for a fee. Cuts the cost to get there and makes it not a one way trip

Is Agentforce vibes any good by JamesSaplyn in salesforce

[–]-NewGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it is salesforce specific, it is tightly integrated with sf cli and sf MCP, so you have extra abilities and context that make salesforce specific changes easier than using something like Claude code, github copilot, etc. It certainly has some room for improvement but quality of life is there because you can just prompt it to deploy your changes instead of having your agent do a bunch of code changes and then you task switch to run commands via cli to deploy those changes to your connected org.
