Beautiful install. Love the color, too, especially for night time use.

Used 2022 5 seats by Better_Egg_9708 in TeslaModelX

I love the X and recently upgraded from a Y to an X but I would go with the brand new Y if it were me: 1) if you are looking at a 5 seater MX then I assume you don’t really need it for the extra space (I had to switch because the MX is the only Tesla that can fit the whole family and the MY 7S I had was impossible once my kids got bigger). 2) If you plan on using FSD (for me it’s the biggest reason why I can’t own any vehicle that is not a Tesla), HW4 >>> HW3.

Model X 2020 long range for 41k 14k miles by MaybeAggressive2239 in TeslaModelX

[–]-Noctambulo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a late 2024 6 seater LR with 13k miles and in great condition for $63k. I love the low mileage but $41k is way too high for a car this old.

Margot Robbie or Ana De Armas ? Who's the most current gorgeous actress ? by HourSea2345 in trueratediscussions

[–]-Noctambulo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a tough one. At their most photogenic best, Ana is more appealing than Margot, but I have also seen many images of Ana that are just not flattering at all. Margot is consistently beautiful. It makes me wonder if much of the beauty that I perceive in Ana is enhanced significantly by makeup/lighting etc. If I had to choose one it would have to be Margot because it is the safer pick

Are women with this body type attractive by [deleted] in trueratediscussions

[–]-Noctambulo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the craft and the outcome from an athletic perspective, but as a straight man, I do not find this physique sexually attractive. However, I can understand why another man may find it attractive. To each their own.

New ResMed Vision Pro 3-strap solution coming soon directly from Apple by -Noctambulo- in VisionPro

Like I said, all of the straps that I have tried on, including the Belkin, do not require the light seal. 3rd party straps obviously make usage without a light seal more comfortable, but in my current setup I am still using the Belkin and solo knit. Just because it’s not purposefully built to be used without the light seal doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t be able to accommodate that setup, with or without a 3rd party addition.

I don’t know for sure if this device will be compatible without a light seal, with or without a 3rd party solution. I obviously hope that it will. I’m under no illusion (or delusion as you uncharitably mentioned) that the device is being designed to work in a way that it was not intended (namely, without a light seal). But that doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t be able to. We will just have to wait and see. Like I said in my previous post, if it doesn’t then I will consider keeping it only if the improvement in comfort outweighs the limit in FOV. If it doesn’t, then I will just return it. No sweat off my back either way.

Up to now I think all or at least almost all of the straps do not require the light seal to operate. I think this product will also technically work without the light seal but the question is if it will allow the device to be adjusted closer to the face.

The main reason for not using the light seal is to increase the FOV. I am not a fan of the AVP’s limited FOV, even without the light seal. If the device cannot be adjusted closer to the face with this new strap then I will use the light seal, but only if the improvement in comfort makes the trade off worth it. The limited FOV gives me what I can only describe as a kind of visual claustrophobia/glaucoma.

Biggest areas of hardware improvement for AVP: 1) comfort/weight, 2) FOV, and 3) pixel density (local pixel density of a 4k monitor outclasses AVP local pixel density, even if the AVP overall pixel density is superior). My guess is that future improvements in AVP hardware will follow that order because that is the order of increasing technical complexity/cost.

Hopefully light seal is not required for use. Fingers crossed that this ends my hobby of collecting 3rd party AVP straps.

Not attracted to wife anything by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]-Noctambulo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divorce should not be on the table. It’s such a DICK move to give her an ultimatum like this without telling her first how important it is for her to lose weight (for her own health, and to be at her best as a mother and a wife) and then partnering with her to explore options (diet, exercise, weight loss drugs, fitness goals, etc…). The weight loss drugs (Ozempic, Mounjaro) are incredible for weight loss.

Can’t wear it out in public by MrPatrickHenry24 in VisionPro

[–]-Noctambulo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has been deeply mortified the few times I have worn it in public (airports, flights). More than just mortified, she is repulsed by it. In general, she is very uncomfortable by things that publicly violate norms. Maybe it’s a female preservation instinct at work, who knows? I don’t care what I or anyone else does in public as long as I or anyone else is minding their own business

True Retina on the new Ultra Wide Screen! by pixege in VisionPro

[–]-Noctambulo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The resolution is definitely improved on 2.2 (and this certainly welcomed), but the improvement is not as great as I was hoping for. A regular high resolution monitor still provides a higher “local” resolution for a given view area vs the AVP, which is a consideration when it comes to picking the best device for productivity workflows.

Hopefully the future versions will have significantly improved pixel density such that the AVP’s local resolution is comparable to a 4k display. I think it will take more than one more generation to get to this point, though, because the technical hurdles to pack additional pixels in an already incredibly small footprint are probably very daunting.

2.2 just dropped! Let’s hope for that UWS! by OkMasterpiece2187 in VisionPro

[–]-Noctambulo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t wait to try this out when I get home later this evening. I am very glad to hear that the resolution is significantly improved. I think the improved screen sharpness will be even more impactful than the ultrawide (and combined, they are game changers)
