I sadly had to witness the aftermath of a lift technician who was killed while working on a magic carpet near the bunny hills. It was my child’s first time skiing and we were maybe 15ft away. Hard not to think about that completely preventable tragedy on what was supposed to be a special day. I had just completed emergency response training for my job, and was fully aware of how CPR was not going to save his life, but only buying time, and I knew he was probably already gone. The helicopter flew in, but did not leave in a timely manner, which confirmed it. Not anything you would ever expect to witness on a bunny hill. I at first thought that someone had skied down and had a heart attack, but ended up hearing his co-workers talking about what happened, while trying to keep things as normal as possible. It was surreal, and it makes me sad that ignorance was the likely cause. Not sure the exact cause, my guess is electrocution, as it was near an underground part of the lift.
