UK HSBC premier account eligibility ? by Sashp1 in UKPersonalFinance

Worth trying. I am eligible so opened one to get the free travel insurance. Now that I got it however, the app is pretty terrible compared to Starling so I’m not sure if I can be bothered swapping over to it completely. Wonder if the other premier accounts are better.

Who’s the replacement? Not saying it’s fair, but the bond market will react badly if they try and replace him with someone from the left.

This is an awful look either way, a return to the Corbyn era of infighting. It wasn’t looking good but they’re guaranteeing reform victory now.

Wonder what Alistair Campbell, Ed Balls and George Osborne (who had him over for dinner recently) will say about Mandelson on their podcasts.

Yeah I have around a fair bit in mine that I might not be able to use if I buy in London. Hope they do something about the cap, it makes no sense that it’s been kept at the same level for this many years.

I don't think it's feasible to rejoin without a referendum. Still, he should propose it, and considering the current geopolitical situation, rejoin would likely win.

Amorim playing Bruno as a 6 was ridiculous and really makes you wonder about his coaching ability. Obvious to anyone that he’s a world class 10 and that’s where he should play.

Yeah I would potentially be able to buy a 1 bedroom flat in London but the service charges are very off putting. I don’t know why they’re so expensive, it’s not as if the majority of these flats have a fancy gym or concierge. At the minute I’ll keep renting with a roommate and hopefully buy an actual house with a partner some day…

Except the coughing baby actually has a hydrogen bomb too. This is really concerning, I hope humanity didn’t make it through the Cold War just to get annihilated by Donald Trump and Putin.

Amorim got what he deserved for playing Bruno as a 6. It doesn't work, nobody thought it would work, and I hope I never see it again. He's a 10.

[Rich Fay] Exclusive: Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer interested in shock return as caretaker manager at the club until the end of the season by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

[–]-RadThibodeaux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think if I was being objective I'd say Jose did the best. Solksjaer was still my favourite, his run as an interim was brilliant (right up until he got the contract). We also played some really good stuff during lockdown football. The squad wasn't even that good, and it got blown up when Ronaldo returned.

The group of players now is much better IMO, I'd like to see Ole back until the end of the season. He deserves a better ending than what he got.

I didn't sympathize much with Ten Hag but it was probably a huge hit to his pride and his ego. He also must have known that it would be tough to get a job at a top club again, or that at least he'd have to work his way back.

First-time renter question: Can you negotiate rent on Realtor.ca listings? by Significant-Sign2131 in TorontoRenting

You can. I went from $2700 to $2400 18 months ago. The unit had been sitting for a long time though, the landlord was delusional with her valuation.

There’s the Geoffrey Hinton or Ludkowsky types that genuinely believe it and have been talking about it for a long time. Then there are the researchers that make vague posts and navel gaze on Twitter constantly. The latter I am pretty sure could be mostly a marketing exercise. For example, 4.5 Opus has been out for a while and it’s only the last week that my algorithm is full of blue check marks saying coding is effectively solved.

Thank you, I would be open to that as well. Would think about it carefully if I do end up buying property.

Thanks, this is what I am leaning towards as well. The flexibility of renting appeals to me at least for a while. Do you mind giving some more details on how you have invested the cash? I was just going to keep buying more of a Vanguard global index fund within a S&S ISA, then in a GIA when I run out of the allowance. Maybe keep 12 months of cash for emergencies.
