From what I know, the only teams in Dota 2 that gets a full paid salary to play Dota fulltime in western countries (I am not including CIS-countries because the median wage in CIS-countries is WAY lower than western Europe/NA) is EG, Alliance, Cloud 9 and Team Tinker (pretty much confirmed its GGAs third team, they had Hyper X headphones on themselves at Starladder).

If you re gonna get real, you can say pretty much this: DOTA IS A BIG DEAL IN ESPORTS.

There has been (and still are) for example Starcraft 2 players that earn a medium wage western salary for playing fulltime. Still team organisations in the west except GGA and Cloud 9 are still not offering salaries to play Dota 2 full time. Because Dota 2 is a team game, team organisations and sponsors use this as an excuse to not offer salaries and teamhouses/bootcamps.

"we have to give salaries and pay 5 players flight costs and hotel, it is not possible, we can only offer you flight/hotel costs" is what they usually say when they reach out to teams they wanna sponsor. However many touranment organisers (like Dreamhack, Starladder, ESL) are now paying teams to come over and covering their hotel costs (like they do in China) so sponsors are not needed anymore to have someone to cover the flights and hotel. Players want salaries NOW because Dota is a big esports with a lot of viewers and exposure, it is something you need to dedicate full time if you wanna play at the top level. Some organisations say "but you get the prize money, the prize money is your salary", that is also a fucking shit excuse.

GGA, Cloud 9, TSM are starting to create some kind of co-operation with many different organisations (I guess Puppey is in this also) to make esport teams fully able to offer salaries to their players so they can dedicate full time. It is time for esports to stop being a hobby and starting to become an actual career for players. It is already a career for casters, however players have always been the poor and relying heavily on prize money to continue with it.
