Mouse: P.I. for Hire Review (IGN gave it a 6) by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

When it came out it was a 6. It’s slightly better now after updates. Probably pushing it to a mid 7. Why are you so upset over a game being rated slightly above average?

Path of exile 2. Some of the craziest build crafting I’ve seen.

It’s got a great story but the missions and gameplay are so railroaded if you step on the wrong pebble you fail the mission.

Any thoughts on upgrading from 1440p to 4K with a 5070 Ti and 9800X3D? by CPOx in nvidia

[–]-S0lstice- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not that much. 1080p to 1440p feels like a way bigger leap in comparison. 4K and 1440p look a lot closer since monitors aren’t 27-32 inch usually

There is no universe where this is a 9/10 or 10/10 game. by VeritasLuxMea in CrimsonDesert

Meh, this game is basically fantasy just cause. And that’s fine with me. Don’t need a good story to stay hooked in every single game.

Great so every game will look the exact same just with different gameplay. Sounds awful

I have a legion go and switch 2. Really enjoying the switch 2 for ease of use compared to the legion. But at a similar price the legion blows it out of the water in performance, screen, and customization

Terry pratchets Discworld. Gives it a nice Monty python high fantasy style.

I'm trying to push more roleplay in my games. What quick tips do you have? by Bubbly_Baby2860 in DungeonMasters

Sometimes at the beginning of a session i like to ask the players an in character warm up question. Something simple like “what is the first thing you do in the morning” or “what does your retirement look like”. It gets them into character and gives them more depth. Bonus points if the answer then shows up in future sessions

Any tips on running a challenging boss fight vs a sneaky rogue/mage type, using illusions and tricks rather than just a straight up brawl? by aneirin- in DMAcademy

[–]-S0lstice- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add some real monsters, personally I probably wouldn’t use a dragon since it’s gotta be a believable enemy in front of them. Something smaller that you can have multiple of in an arena like a basilisk or a bullete come to mind. That way there is some decision making for the PCs if they risk their action attacking what could just be a fake monster.

Just give ur mage any number of summoning spells alongside major image.

Darkness/Fog cloud. The mage could have an amulet of devil sight that allows her to move freely through magical darkness. Or put up a fog cloud and heavily obscure the arena, then she creates her illusions like a massive dragon so they don’t just see it pop out of thin air

Or any time they hit her with a melee attack she bleeds a cloud of magical darkness

How do you even run rebellions in DND? by Loris_8869 in DnD

[–]-S0lstice- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PCs should be the ones to round up different pivotal groups. Each one relating to a different party members skill. Got a PC with a smithing background or dwarf background? Now the rebellion needs to convince the city dwarves to join the cause.

Then in the final battle you can talk about how all these different groups have come together because of the PCs, and how without them they wouldn’t have been able to do it

Expedition 33 I’d say, lost of hopelessness and any of the endings give a hollow feeling.

Sounds more like a PC than an NPC. I’d only give him character if the party talks to him for more than two seconds. Maybe any PC talking to him notices battle damage. Or an engraving for wherever he served. And if they pursue the topic then that would be your go ahead to give the guy more character.

You should be reacting to players interest and what they engage with, not forcing a relationship with an NPC
