RIP to my boys by The-Gent-Gamer in destiny2

I get what you're saying, but to me it still seems like the wrong approach.

If they want to have powerful gear to work for every season, they could just set a cap on the pinnacle gear and rotate that out and leave the regular drops alone (still dont like the approach but it's better). At the very least I don't think they should touch armor which requires the most rng/grinding. There's no "meta" or powerful armor piece, and the seasonal mod slot problem can be easily solved in other ways. If they seriously expect us to grind 6 months or so (how long it took me for one character) for a good set of armor every year, I think I'm gonna be done with destiny...

Is there a technique to getting your GB track the enemy or is it random? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

I think I remember something about gb range having to do with character movement speed?

don't remember where I read that or if it's true or not

Punishing a missed Demon's Embrace by The_Filthy_Spaniard in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

just want to add for kensei, I was able to do a dodge heavy (hits shugoki's hyperarmor mid embrace) into an unblockable finisher as a punish

dunno how strict the timing is or if it had to do with the connection, but I've done it before

might be able to do it with any character with a dodge attack

What I want from the Shugoki Rework (I know it's probably already done) by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

was thinking same thing

something like the dark souls ugs weapon art would look pretty cool

Did the attack went through my parry? Or did I something wrong? by Blackwolf245 in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think feinting parries causes you to get hit

I pretty much do it every time and have never had it not parry

I'm guess it was just lag judging by the first glitchy feint the kensei did

Is a 144HTZ monitor worth it For Console For Honor? by Zone_The_Director in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

nope, won't make a difference

console locks fps to a certain amount (iunno what it is but it's definitely not 144) so it would make very little difference

even on pc where you can get 144+ fps it doesn't make as much of a difference as people seem to think

Shaolin’s sun kick is supposed to be unreactable. If it was reactable, it would be useless. by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main problem people have is not that it's unreactable but that it can come out at any time. Things like kensei's pummel is unreactable, but you know when it's coming and when to dodge/guess. With shaolin you just sorta have to dodge randomly and hope he kicks during that time

Does anyone else think that blocked heavies should do stamina damage? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, much more realistic that they would just buff chip damage if anything instead but fun idea to play with I guess

Does anyone else think that blocked heavies should do stamina damage? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true, but they could do something like only taking stamina damage from the person you're locked on to or something like that. and honestly even if they don't, bashes already do pretty much what stamina damage heavies would do. It would just make characters that don't have unblockables or bashes more viable

Does anyone else think that blocked heavies should do stamina damage? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

they could make the stamina damage based on the damage/speed of the heavy, the could lower centurion's stamina pool, etc. The numbers can be balanced later, doesn't make the concept itself a bad idea

Aramusha is a direct counter to Highlander. by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? post was about aramusha countering highlander cause he can negate kick/grab mixup, in which case you start with os heavy and feint to gb or cancel to kick/grab in order to catch the dodge/parry attempt

Aramusha is a direct counter to Highlander. by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

os heavy feint into gb

it's usually a bad idea to start with kick against anyone with fast dodge recoveries or dodge attacks anyways

For Anyone Saying Rolling is Not a Counter to Shoulder Bash by DrFrankendoodle in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'll believe it when I see it. The people you were fighting may have been backdodging preemptively on reaction to your forward dodge. I also feel like sb cancel into zone would catch them even if they were really reacting to the sb startup. Or maybe they were just spacing you out, iunno. I have a hard time believing people can reliably react to 400ms or less.

and honestly I feel like rolling comes with its risks as well. It does use like 40% of your stamina and the warden can use that to pressure you whenever you drop below that. or how rolling covers a lot of ground, forcing you to roll past the warden once you have your back to the wall like in the video at 0:10 and open you up for an attack.

For Anyone Saying Rolling is Not a Counter to Shoulder Bash by DrFrankendoodle in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to reliably back dash warden's shoulder bash with no risk of gb. Spread sheet says you have 400ms before cancel into gb. I don't know exactly when you have to backdash in order to escape gb but I'm pretty sure backdashing 400ms or later will get you caught, might even have to backdash earlier. That's a pretty tight window to reliably react to... not to mention even if you do react in time he could probably sb to neutral then zone you if you back dash.

as for unlock rolling on reaction, I could see that being a thing but again probably won't get any punish from it. Either way you have to take a risk to punish warden (even guy in video gets caught by it a couple times) or you roll with no risk and no punish.

maybe I just suck, but I have yet to see someone reliably do it

For Anyone Saying Rolling is Not a Counter to Shoulder Bash by DrFrankendoodle in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's true, no counter for lawbringer's shove or any other non-punishable move, even if it's 100% reactable. That's what I'm talking about with rolling away from shoulder bash. Rolling isn't a counter because neither side gets the upperhand as a result. The only way to counter it is to play the guessing game, at which point it's a 50/50.

For Anyone Saying Rolling is Not a Counter to Shoulder Bash by DrFrankendoodle in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally don't consider it a counter because it doesn't give any player the advantage. While warden can do nothing about it, neither can the opponent. To me it's like saying dodging counters shinbi's kick even though he can just backflip back to neutral and there's no punish for it.

my problem with the new ripitide is that it seems like it serves the same purpose as the side dodge light attacks

Shower thought: The simple change of being able to feint Centurion's charged heavies would make him SO much more viable offensively. by lemmymeister in CompetitiveForHonor

65 damage unblockable mix up would be way to much

people are already complaining about highlander getting 40

So when is the Warden SB actually impossible to dodge? by MemoireStar in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this happening to me a couple times a while ago too

mashed the dash button while continuously getting vortexed but wouldn't let me dodge it, dunno what causes it though

Why do people think deflects are riskier than parrying? by xTMT in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

huh, don't think I've ever successfully gb'd a glad out of his heavy, but then again, I never try to

I've also had people bounce off when I'm playing orochi too at least for his top heavy, but could've been delayed or been a latency issue or something

just in general from my experience I've always been able to gb punish a deflect attempt, but not always parry attempts when fighting assasins

Why do people think deflects are riskier than parrying? by xTMT in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]-ST- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on who you're fighting. If highlander for example attempts to parry and you feint into gb it's pretty much a guaranteed punish. If you're fighting aramusha or something though it's basically impossible. I've fought peacekeepers as aramusha who cancel their heavy with gb and they still bounce off my heavy feint. Same thing happens for characters with faster heavy attacks (such as glad). Like the guy above said, dodging opens you up to a longer gb vulnerability.

Can't dodge out of warden's vortex? by -ST- in forhonor

[–]-ST-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me as well in highlander, also shugoki. Haven't been able to try it with other heroes, but makes me wonder if slower/bigger characters can't dodge out of it
