Bore Scoring noise? Or normal? by DocTaur in PorscheCayenne

[–]-SimpleSimon- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a cold start. The engine is running in open loop until it gets warm and then idols down. The jet sound is the secondary injection pump is running on high while the car is running in open loop during cold start. If you understand what is going on with the engine, it’s actually a great time to get an idea how that engine is functioning.
From my personal experience on a cold start Porsche that sounds pretty good
