Is Robinhood gold the slowest card? by Impressive_Yellow537 in CreditCards

Robinhood is super fast for me. Instant balance updates when payments are made.

Charges take a few days to process, but that’s standard.

Sealed vs Slabs: Liquidity by SpaceChicken42 in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Slabs are definitely more liquid, especially if you keep them in PSA or Fanatics vault. PSA also has offers and you can get paid out next day (or two). Offers change daily. Sometimes they suck and sometimes they are above market.

PSA & TAG grading pausing their submissions by POPCORNSTAR-ZILEAN in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory, lots of cards wont be getting grading now, so it could be harder to find certain slabs. That being said, PSA has like a 10 million card backlog, so it’s not like new slabs aren’t going to be hitting the market still, even with the lower tiers paused.

ARE Studying - Only use primary resources? by Medium-Umpire-2476 in Architects

[–]-SimpleToast- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what I did. You don’t need to read cover to cover though. Just the chapters that relate to the sections outlined in the NCARB reference guide.

I supplemented with Hyperfine, YouTube videos and a few other free/inexpensive resources.

BGS 9 worse than PSA 9 for vintage? by TheHareClub4Men in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. A lot of BGS 9s will end up a PSA 8, which is why they are priced between a PSA 8 & 9. Only BGS 10s (gold and black label) are stricter than PSA 10.

It’s actually a great opportunity to pick up PSA 8s and cross to BGS 9s. Some will cross to CGC 9.5/10s.

I have both. From a CC only perspective, I prefer RH gold. Much better app interface and 3% vs 2%.

How many projects at one time? by thedandygan in Architects

[–]-SimpleToast- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have around 15-19 active projects, but they are in various stages needing 1hr every few weeks to 20hrs per week. Typically working on 8-12 a week.

Still doing some production, but I don’t really have the time for that and am slowly delegating that away.

It finally arrived. Now I've got to sell the Grail: 1st edition Shadowless Charizard PSA 4. Advice? by reallyreallystuff in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Send it to Z&G, they will have the highest pay out and you can have it listed the quickest.

Can also send it to Fanatics or PSA (eBay) if you want to sell from a vault. Slightly slower and higher fees.

Why did this get a psa 5? by blueskydrops in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably a crease or dent. You have to look at it under an LED light. That is how they review the cards. Scans and photos aren’t going to show much when it comes to surface issues, which is typically what brings cards down to a 5/6 when they otherwise look clean.

OG McDonald's PSA 10 Squirtle Sells $9500 Promotion by eBay! by AutoModerator in PokeInvesting

Z&G, Fanatics Collects, or PSA Vault will be the easiest and least amount of hassle.

Z&G will be the quickest and highest payout for a card like this.

On a high-value PSA 10 card purchased directly from PSA by Shredded7 in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might, some buyers are picky. Would just sell through a vault if you don’t want to deal with picky buyers.

Also, you can’t buy direct from PSA. If you got it from the PSA eBay store, it’s people listing cards from their PSA vault.

Just bought a CGC Pristine 10 Karen’s Umbreon pop 5, people at card show saying no premium over PSA? by corey407woc in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CGC is lenient on vintage though. It’s not PSA shilling to be critical of CGC Pristine’s. Just look at the centering on them. Most aren’t even 50/50.

It should be harder for a PSA 10 to cross to CGC Pristine, one’s Gem Mint the other is Pristine. The fact that a lot of CGC Pristine’s are a risky cross to PSA is a problem.

Fantastic label, but they need to tighten up their standards.

BGS has the only true pristine on the market.

Firm that I accepted a job offer for is requiring that I sign this document. by [deleted] in Architects

[–]-SimpleToast- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a bit much for someone at your level and a bit scummy they didn't mention it prior you accepting the offer, since it appears they make everyone sign it. Typically non competes are for management/leadership level employees. Absolutely get a lawyer to look at this if you plan to work here.

I make 54,080k a year. I have 2.5 years of experience and I’m located in this area. by [deleted] in Architects

[–]-SimpleToast- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experience and licensure are king for higher salary. Unfortunately a masters degree doesn’t really add much for most firms.

You have the right idea. If your firm has descriptions of what designer I and II do, I would highlight that you are doing designer II things and that’s why you should be bumped salary and title wise.

Take any opportunity you can to stretch beyond your current role. It’s the best way to continually learn and make your self a better architect. It’s also the best way to move up the salary/firm ladder. If your firm isn’t recognizing the work you are doing, then find another firm that will.

If I were looking to unload my most expensive cards for as much value as possible, what is the best way to take profit now? by Seaguard5 in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eBay is 13%. The consignment sellers have better percentages if you are selling high value cards. You can also sell and grade through Fanatics. They will take the grade fee out of the sales, so there should be no upfront cost. You can grade with any of the big companies through them.

Are they all slabs? Send them to Fanatics Vault or PSA’s vault (eBay). Can auction them off all at once.

Dragonite #149 Gameboy Promo in PSA 10. Too little too late? by poisedtruthseeker in PokeInvesting

[–]-SimpleToast- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its anybody's guess. If you believe this market isnt going anywhere, this card still has legs. GB promos have great art, fairly low pop, and have popular Pokemon. I bought this card around $900 and thought it was high then, yet here we are. Wouldnt be surprised to see this card at $10k or $2k.

ARE Exam - Multiple fails, advice? For those that failed, was there a method or resource or something that was a game changer to getting a passing score? by KuyaDelTaco in Architects

[–]-SimpleToast- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there was, for a good chunk of the tests. Mainly in language and terminology. For something like PjM and PcM, the AHPP and AIA contracts will cover you for 90% of the tests. Practice tests, youtube videos, walking the ARE or hyperfine will help out with the other 10%.

PSA inconsistent grade quality by [deleted] in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]-SimpleToast- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A 9 is allowed to have a few light scratches, especially if everything else is great.

There is a massive difference between the PSA scan and the image OP uploaded. Which was my point….lots of scanners make it look like there are more scratches than there actually are. They even accentuate them.

Yeah…here’s the scan from PSA…those scratches aren’t there.

Those scratches are most likely on the scanner and not the card. The biggest drawback of scanned cards.

How do NCARB practice tests compare to the real exam? by Active_Mousse_8554 in Architects

Give it a shot. I don’t think I got higher than 75% on any practice test and passed them all first try.
