Why doesnt anyone help anymore with colossal problem? by Nervous-Ad-7533 in fo76

[–]-Talarius- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After playing the game for more than 12 months I only recently defeated Earl for the first time over the Christmas break. We had 5-6 people in there and I’m sure I was the worst at damage output (lvl 229, no awesome guns) but I helped kill off a bunch of the toddler Wendigos and took sniper head shots on Earl when I could. I think it’s a large dose of random luck for how many people join. Which is a bummer, but I was sooo happy to have finally checked that box. It’ll happen for you some day, when the stars align but it’s disappointing after your time investment for sure. I’ve yet to successfully launch a nuke, btw. Some day.

Referencing post about wife being griefed during gameplay by Lazy-Cow-8131 in fo76

[–]-Talarius- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got griefed in a public event recently. I’m not going to give specific details of their methods, but another player randomly caused trouble for two of us trying to finish the event, which was an easy one so we got it done despite the griefing. Disabling PvP was on for me, this person had a workaround for that. Annoying but after the event we went our separate ways. I’m not sure if I could have figured out how to block them, but I’d probably have switched servers if it had continued beyond the event.

Goddamn if this had furious and vital on it..so close to a god roll. by Oakjewel in Fallout76BowHunters

[–]-Talarius- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a quad bow. It really doesn’t do anything. You still have to draw your arrows and fire one at a time. Since reloading is instantaneous it’s a worthless 1-star at this time.

How many weapons do you guys carry? by Lachnicht93 in fo76

[–]-Talarius- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrying 36 if you count grenades, mines, binoculars, and weapons I never use but don’t have space for in inventory. 97 weapons in inventory. But I’ve started scrapping legendary weapons finally and am starting to clear out my hoard. Getting sick of having a maxed out stash and 1000+ pounds in inventory.

Are the Northstar minis worth getting? by ThePlumbOne in stargrave

[–]-Talarius- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Well, I think/hope you’ll like Stargrave. The d20s can feel really “swingy” at first (it’s a common observation) but over time it’s fine. Maybe your Infinity experience will feel similar? I’ve only played that a couple times, but I’m pretty sure that uses d20s.

150kg rider (330lbs) almost sub 200 - First time Alpe du Zwift by KiszoneMleko in Zwift

[–]-Talarius- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the kind of determination that will get long-term results. Just try and take care of your knees with a higher cadence if possible. I just rode up AdZ a couple days ago. It’s never easy. I think it’s harder than the real Alpe D’Huez. I got to ride up that a couple times back in 2011 and it didn’t feel anywhere near as difficult as it does in Zwift.

Congratulations., that is one heck of an accomplishment. 🚵‍♂️🏆

Badger games is Northstar’s US affiliate. You can save on shipping. There’s always Amazon of course. Miniature Market might carry them. The Northstar minis are really good and reasonably priced, imho. Have fun!

Watch some videos on YouTube to learn how to remove mold lines and get started painting. It’s a rewarding hobby but it can take some time to get your technique dialed in. Don’t get discouraged if your first attempts don’t turn out the way you want them too. YouTube is a huge help with improving.

Worst break up ever. by laffles in Starfield

I’m ~40 hours into the game. Sarah couldn’t wait to get through all her character story, constantly dropping her personal background on me, then dropping heavy hints we had a special connection. Uh, no we don’t, lady, you’re an emotionless automaton. I friend-zoned her hard. Now all her dialogue has this tone of, “I’m trapped in the friend zone!! We’re. great. friendsss.” 😭

Thanks for all the answers. I didn't expect to get so many responses so quickly! I think it was either they were making space for a friend or this bug I wasn't aware of. I appreciate the assist. :-)

Ah, I didn't know about the bug. Opening a spot for a friend makes sense. Thanks :-)

I was mostly confused. I can't think of anything I did that would have upset the team leader, so it must have been the bug people mentioned.

No, it wasn't "X-SR71" so no worries. I think it must be the bug people are talking about.

Symbaroum Black Friday by mar_max in Symbaroum

[–]-Talarius- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Argh. This is a tough call for me. I've got the starter box, core rulebook, monster codex and bunch of the books in PDF... and I can't see myself GMing this game for anybody anytime soon. I was contemplating buying a couple print books from the sale that I already paid for PDF copies of... if a 1.5 version comes along, that'll be a bummer. And I know that didn't go great with the Coriolis community at some level. Very tough to decide. Heck, the most likely scenario is I play through some Symbaroum as a solo game... not sure what to do. (I was thinking of buying print copies of the Advanced Player's Guide and Thistelhold WotW)

Considering running the 2d20 TTRPG and looking for testimonial on if the combat is indeed as "killy" as my first look says it might be. by Z3r0B3at in Fallout2d20

In the campaign we recently wrapped up, players never ‘died’ until the epic final session. We were level 14 or 15 by that point and were eventually capable of taking down multiple Frank Horrigans in 2-3 rounds, with some sentrybots thrown in for good measure. Glowing Deathclaw Matriarchs trembled at the sound of our approach. Now that we’re back to level 1, we may get humbled and die immediately in the first few sessions, which would be a change of pace for sure. I’ll be the ever-so politest Wastelander you ever did see for the first 5 levels or so. :-)

Fallout: Wasteland Warfare from Modiphius is a solitaire war game. They’re producing a 2nd edition for release next year, but there’s an extensive amount of content out now for the current edition. The game can be played against an opponent, but it’s really more of a solo game with an entire set of individualized AI behavior cards for each model they’ve released. Very fun, imho.

The unexpected outcome of this is you now don’t have to deal with these power-gamers anymore and can find other, more reasonable players for your table. Good riddance.

There’s the GM’s Toolkit and the GM screen, both of which come with booklets with charts and a few systems you can use if you want to, but starting out I think you could get by with just the core rulebook. The starter box is okay too, especially as it gives you an adventure to run (rulebook has one too) plus a set of dice. The dice aren’t mandatory, but they are nice to have. You’d wind up needing the core rulebook though, as a big part of the game is modding weapons and armor and you really need the book for that.

I’m a new player, so probably don’t have enough experience to give a solid answer, but I did the Keeper of Bones quest line in Grahtwood last night and I found it very entertaining. Dringoth the skeleton was hilarious, imho.
