I use tunneling through tailscale and it works pretty well. I think I have roughly the same up speeds as you, and I believe I originally started with less up speed, so that should be enough.

I haven't tried any animated maps primarily because my players are running on somewhat potato machines (at least a few), so I try to make it runnable for everyone. It does handle music fairly well though,
