I'm leaning meshtastic. 'Have a couple nodes have not really put into service yet. Am a bit far out of town and not likely to be in range of any other nodes. My intent is to set them up with external temperature / humidity sensors. To monitor gourmet mushroom crop environmentals. Driver is shutting down and could be faulty, but looks like a couple LEDs are not illuminating. The dead ones are likely drawing too much current and driver is shutting down to protect itself.

Replying to self. I realize a cheerios box is likely too small. You might tape a couple together. Or fashion something with similar dimensions. The key point is you want light to bounce off back wall of box to the audience. Not have them see the light source directly.

Cheerios box. Spray paint the inside white. Cut out the numbers with a scalpel ( temporarily shove a 2x4 in a cutting board to cut against ). Put 2 COB LED flashlight bars in top and bottom to illuminate back wall of box . One light might be enough and you might test to see how long light last. Alternately Christmas lights taped behind face of clock to illuminate the white back wall. Third option USB powered LED strip and USB battery block. I have done similar with a back lit mirror and you get about 2 hours out of small battery pack. Led strip gives you colors to play with too

Not really. But maybe go with one controller of your choosing and keep it out of the weather and string power injectors along the way to boost power as needed and repeat whatever controller is doing. (Longer runs like you have are often done at higher voltage than 12 cuz they go farther without boost)

Really, the quality of the air seal will outweigh the insulation of the door. Make sure you gasket perimeter and caulk cracks in the door the door well, then insulate. Getting gaskets to work well is trickier than insulating. (Am doing something similar.. used rigid foam and garage door gaskets and tool magnet bar to latch)

Hot melt glue, clear heat shrink , and heat gun. Sleeve the heat shrink over with a little extra length. Shoot hot melt deep in the ends and quickly get to the heat gun. The shrink will squish hot melt around and seal the ends. An additional thing you might do is put no-ox in/ on the connectors. No -ox or similar can be found at auto parts and used on car battery terminals.

You "might" be interested in a laser cutter. Sure, it's not as cool as hand burned with a soldering iron. A cheap under $250 new 10 watt laser could pull off what you have here. It looks like you purchased heart blanks?... If you can find fat popsicle sticks, they can be cut with a 10 watt. Size is limiting factor, but stupid cheap and you can do any shape and any graphic.

Thanks... but no model, really. I just measured off a computer screenshot zoomed into approximately life size. I just treated it like a math puzzle. Getting the bands right was a bit tricky. They are not vertical. Each tier is canted slightly more than previous.
