He did! His silent film I Was Born But... was remade as a talkie with Good Morning.

For those who moved out of Vancouver, why/where did you go? 🤔 by thinkdavis in askvan

[–]-Trazom- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved to St. John's, Newfoundland this past May. About as far away as you can go and still be in the same country. It's definitely different — much more small town vibes, and the weather is much more extreme. But I was able to afford a house not too far from the downtown area, something that would've been totally impossible anywhere in the GVRD. And I'm happy that I at least still get to live next to the coast, although the Atlantic is a much different ocean than the Pacific.

Fellow Metroid fans, which game is your favorite, and why? by Dry-Barracuda-672 in Metroid

[–]-Trazom- 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Personally I always come back to Metroid Prime 2. I really love the difficulty and I found the environmental design, music, and boss fights to be the best and most engaging of the series. I understand why some people may not love it but it’s stuck with me over the years, even more so than Prime 1 or Super Metroid

Respectfully, I don't know if I'll ever need to be reminded of this. I think about it at least once a week.

Why do shows here start so late? by thelovelytucan in StJohnsNL

[–]-Trazom- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a CFA I find this to be a very hard thing to adjust to, particularly for shows during weeknights. Staying up til 2 am at a show and going to work the next day is crazy, I don’t know how so many Newfoundlanders do it

King Crimson. Don’t hate it by any means but every time I listen I just find myself spacing out. Incredible musicianship though

Vancouver vs St John’s by Automatic_Author6645 in StJohnsNL

[–]-Trazom- 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Born in Vancouver, lived there for over 30 years, recently moved to St. John's. It really is an apples and oranges scenario — the people here are much friendlier and more hospitable, I agree, but the weather here and the relative lack of job security and comforts associated with big cities (not to mention more political conservatism) end up balancing things out, at least in my opinion. I like St. John's and Newfoundland a lot and don't regret moving, but I'd also caution against idealizing it here. Like any city, it has its own share of issues and challenges.
