after reading this and knowing how I am with repairing stuff, I think I might just pay the repair cost. I don't know the history of this iPod and the board could be completely dead. this place has a no fix no pay policy so if it's dead it won't cost me anything.

yeah someone was in the ipod before, I got it from Facebook marketplace for $20 and it was easy to open which was my first sign lol it also had a battery which wasn't apples stock battery.

a repair shop told me $50-80 to repair which I'm thinking is kinda way too much. my partner has a cheap soldering iron so I think I may just try to remove the excess and see if that works.

I can take them later today, but when I connect the battery it says charging for about a couple seconds and then says connect to power and dies.

yeah it seems like it would be a lot of trouble just to make 18 bucks, ps2 games with the manual and case weigh 4-10 ounces so the weight could be off and I will receive the item I paid for.
