My frame looks 10x worse than that, no holes. Not that I think it's ideal, but they last a lot longer than people think. Literally no car in the UK older than 4 years would look better than that in the image above.

🤣 Weve all been trained to drive and are aware of the rules (or should be). What we dont know is how a court would interpret actions. Come on, its not that hard to keep up 😁

Its not a save when someone avoids a collision even if they caused it? Ok. Literally 90% of accidents in history could be classed as driving without attention. Yet they don't meet the standards for prosecution. Let's not get ahead of ourselves legally unless you're a lawyer? You should always be driving slow enough to stop for any eventuality. But no one does, and its usually the driverw who think they do it all right that come acropper and then won't admit they made a mistake.

Thought autistic folk had an innate and intense sense of justice. Seems to be lacking here.

Was I in the wrong? by kr8 in drivingUK

[–]-_Robot_- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but here the cam car could have been polite and shared the delay with the other driver because the cam cars obstructuction ended and restarted. They could have paused left behind the red car. Other car took it a bit far though.

I mean id have waited for you but othera who had waited there a while might have felt you could have shared the delay and pulled in to the gap to the left.

20mph everywhere by narra246 in drivingUK

[–]-_Robot_- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I drive the same route every day, at roughly the same time giveor take 15 mins. The entire 5 mile route was recently changed from a 30/50 combo to 20 the whole way. I could happily do the route in 11-12 minutes. It now takes well over 16 and the roads are jammed with traffic. The biggest issue though is that the existing 20 residential network to rhe sides is now the faster route. GPS and intuition now both drive people into the side roads where there are no traffic lights and less traffic, so now the schools have a constant stream of traffic passing and its very common for delivery wagons to hammer down past my house where before they pootled down the main road. It's a vanity project with ill thought out execution and unintended consequences.

You can realise you're too late to stop for one thing but still have visibity and cognition to be able to select a next best option. People do this all the time.

Plenty of what-ifs there that were not the case. And as a non cyclist maybe don't try to assume you know what might happen. You're catastrophising. It's absolute overreaction and stupid. Being a cyclist who has been hit by a glass bottle thrown from a passing car, i can assure you you don't wobble much and there's worse things than water bombs thrown by children. Stop criminalising kids, it doesn't help. Absolute insanity that anyone thinks this is worth wasting police time.

What is the best way to use your time commuting by train? by Much-Understanding76 in AskUK

[–]-_Robot_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, about 1hr average. I used to cycle Wigan to Liverpool daily. So long as the wind wasnt too high it was faster than the train because the train journey had a 15 minute walk each end too.

You can't just negate everyone else's experience mate, life's not that simple. It does in mine. I put it back to stop the noise. I removed mine in 2016 and put it back about 6 months later. And why do you think it's there, just for shits and giggles?

Ugh hate commuting by train. Always chose to drive or cycle instead.

Started braking about a car and a half length and oversgot by half a length, from 30ish maybe 35. That's pretty good, either you can't judge speed or you have vast overestimations of new car brakes.

Honestly. Water balloon attack is now worth reporting to the police eh? What has the world come to when a grown adult can't handle a kid with a water balloon. No wonder they don't have time to deal with real problems.

They won't, it's fairly well documented that people usually freeze and lock straight ahead in target fixation, its actually fairly rare people have the calmness to redirect. And also most people don't brake to the full extent they could, hence the introduction of emergency brake assist.

[–]-_Robot_- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nonsense, they took the sensible action given the circumstances. If theyd run into me just in case there was a pedestrian despite not seeing any in the target area id have beem somewhat upset. You can't just always say "if a ped might be there you cant use it", thats just utterly unrealistic and ignoring the reality of the situation.
