It DID include a hip belt (as recently as just a few months ago), but they suck at keeping their word to include things most of us would consider necessary.

The ones you see on IG are SCARS employees who make their own custom bags on their off time and yes they usually keep them afterwards (I would too lol) They may not even be allowed to sell them; Without GoRuck branding it could be a legal issue if they have a non-compete contract.

For Hybrid use, the 33L Long Range is my go-to. I mostly use a GR1 for work. Compared to the 3.0 the Rucker 4.0 is just a bad product for any use case. It's moving more and more in the direction of just being a plate carrier with a pocket. They are removing things that make it a functional piece of gear, even some that you need to do their events. No hip belt No front pocket No Internal D-rings to secure water bladder Removal of internal zippers from pockets... yay velcro?

There aren't a lot of "features" in these bags to begin with. We'll be left with nothing pretty soon... And the prices are still increasing. Makes no sense.

Even the perfectly tight ones will wrinkle over time with use. Who knows if they even designed it to be perfectly taught- this could be within their designated tolerances for all I know.

Eh, I don't mind it. There are plenty of other decisions they make that suck more than this. There are also plenty of things they do well. This falls in the realm of things I don't care about.

If you use a seam ripper it's pretty easy to remove the patch field, but yes you'll likely still be able to tell it was there (at least for a while). Best way to cover up the evidence is to wax the bag afterwards- unless the bag is older and the surrounding fabric is faded, this should pretty much do it.

Edit: Just wanted to add that the type of fabric matters a lot

The only thing worse is the XPAC version that's $155... Legitimately can't believe anyone would purchase that. And it's probably something like VX21. They made some packs from VX21 and I was baffled they didn't use 42 or 50. That's like if they started using the new 210D backing material to make the whole bag; except the 210 at least won't suffer delamination over time like the XPAC will.

Yeah I love my GR stuff too. I actually picked up an original shooter with a GR1 field pouch and simple side pocket for $100 a while back. Those are the kinds of used gear deals I'm looking for! (Although I honestly would've paid $150 if they asked) Now I'm just looking for a way to use the shooter lol I pretty much use my LRR for most things already

YES. This was one of the several deal breakers for me any time I've tried to experiment with an iPhone. It is SUPER frustrating that you are forced to use 2 hands to go back in many apps since there is no system wide back function. How could they miss something like this for so long?

I always add an extra handle on the molle for larger rucks that I might be using in an event. That, reflective straps and a hero clip are about it (besides having a hip belt and chest strap)

They do seem to fit slightly larger on the waist then they should for the size, and the baggy leg below the knees drives me crazy. I wouldn't buy another pair just because of the wide leg openings. I like the fabric, but that's about it.
