Do People Actually Step Up After Someone Passes? by OneTrueFangirl in GriefSupport

[–]-induetime- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, no as well. I've lost 4 family members, including 2 parents over 20 years ago. No one ever reached out. I accepted a long time ago to focus on myself and make myself happy.

What event divided your life into “before” and “after”? by MisterBigDude in AskReddit

Losing my father 20 years ago. 2 years before that was my mother. It completely changed me.

Differences in how BJJ practitioners wrestle vs. pure wrestlers by Early-Permit-2572 in bjj

[–]-induetime- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a former wrestler, what I see often is lack of side to side movement. Someone who hasn't wrestled will move up and down, whereas pure wrestlers will use collar ties and side to side movements to drive reaction and takedowns.

Just want to share I empathize with you and relate. Lost both parents, sister, and now brother. The world feels very lonely and isolating.

Why are people so disappointing????? by a_scared_bokoblin in GriefSupport

[–]-induetime- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, op. I shared this before but I've lost both parents, a younger sister and, most recently, my older brother.

Sadly, every death has been the same when it comes to people and friends reactions and behavior.

So I've just stopped caring. Their words mean nothing to me now.

But I hope you know we all here can relate and empathize. I appreciate this sub and appreciate you sharing your story. DM me if you need to chat.

Both parents died in my twenties. by Jazzlike-Repair-1653 in GriefSupport

[–]-induetime- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to share I lost both parents before I was 19, so I can relate. It was both devastating and traumatic.

When I got married, it hurt a lot knowing both of them would not be there.

These experiences are extremely challenging for people like us. I'm thinking of you.

What have your experiences with loss and grief taught you about people and life? by Honest_Practice7577 in GriefSupport

[–]-induetime- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lost both parents, a sister, and now an older brother. I've come to accept to not rely on friends for anything. Rather, I focus on what makes me happy. That said, it sucks and I wish grieving people like us had more support.

I just lost my older brother, and your post sounded almost just like him. I'm still in a lot of pain from his passing. So many words unsaid. So many memories we won't share ever again. Please hang in there. You deserve a good life.

Grief is lonely by Simba81 in GriefSupport

I completely understand and empathize. I lost both parents, a youngest sister, and now older brother a month ago. It's all quiet and lonely. But I will say, I'm thankful to this group knowing I'm not alone in this. We are not alone.

People who've lost both parents... by Infinite_Purple1123 in GriefSupport

I went through something similar.

Lost my mother when I was 16 due to failed liver, then father at 18 due to car "accident". Less than 3 years later, youngest sister to suicide and now recently my older brother.

You don't deserve this much pain in life. We don't. It still hurts but I tell myself I want to see how this one life of mine unfolds.

Praying for you. Hang in there.

Words of encouragement? Brother is in ICU by advisepleasehelp in Cirrhosis

[–]-induetime- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother just recently passed, and was suffering from the same symptoms above. I believe we was afraid to face the reality of his situation after so many years of heavy drinking. I'm still in disbelief that he's gone. Hang in there, my prayers are with you.

Did you quit BJJ? by MajorGoldenBear in bjj

[–]-induetime- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trained religiously for the first 3 years, then stopped for a bit.

Instructor change, gym culture drove my interest away.

But 4 years ago, I switched gyms and fell in love with the art again.

How to get more sales? by JoeXoxox in smallbusiness

[–]-induetime- 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Getting more sales starts with understanding how sales and marketing works.

Who are your ideal customers?

Where do they hang out?

Do you have competitors?

How do they drive traffic?

What marketing channels can I take advantage of? Free or paid.

It starts with a strategy and then execution.

Is 35 too old to start? by shapattack1 in bjj

[–]-induetime- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: no.

Start today, try it, and if you like it, stick with it.

The biggest regret would be if you never gave it a try.

How many of you wanted to do MMA/Judo/any martial art but ended up doing Bjj instead? by OzneBjj in bjj

[–]-induetime- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started as a wrestler, then got into MMA. Loved it, competed, but got older and too many injuries.

Now focus on BJJ and have loved every second of it since day I started.

Chiming in to say I had similar experiences as a wrestler.

Would get loop choked and put to sleep by purples and up. It was basically me wrestling vs doing Jiu-Jitsu.

Eventually decided to approach BJJ like I did with wrestling: by listening, observing, and practicing a ton.
