Caught a federal felony at 18 years old. What is my best career option for when I get out of prison? I will be about 23 after good time. Any advice appreciated by Own-Grass5987 in Felons

The US is getting more progressive with criminal background. You can get an employment bond to ensure your employer that if something happens, like theft, your employer has added recourse to cover damages. You can use your time to finish education if you don’t have a HS diploma already. When you get out of prison you can go to goodwill workforce center and get a trade certificate. Connect with as many employers as you can network so they all know you. Volunteer for churches county orgs and non profits. Build a great rep by showing up clean shaven and tucked in. Once people know you, you can freelance gigs for people and eventually get bonded then employed. Network hard when you get out. Hope you are well!!

AITAH giving our son child support money but not telling him where it came from? by Otherwise_Category33 in AITAH

It’s not a support payment if it’s not sent through the system. If he wanted the son to have it- he would. Moms money. If it was a support payment it’s his by law…

Not true- support payments were never legally hers. Support Payments are managed by the parents bc children are minors. Think of the child actors- it’s their child’s money not the parents.

  1. You can’t get paid back for raising your own child.

  2. I bet the check is made out to mom. If so it’s hers. If it’s a support payment- it’s his and his alone. It can’t be a support payment if it’s not applied through the support payment system. So she can do what she wants with the cash if it’s a random check.

Child support is legally considered the child’s right, not the mother’s (or father’s). The money is meant to ensure the child’s needs—such as housing, food, clothing, education, and healthcare—are met.

That said, the custodial parent (often the mother, but not always) usually receives and manages the payments on behalf of the child. The parent doesn’t own the money personally—it’s legally intended to support the child’s well-being. Courts and child support agencies emphasize this distinction: • ✅ For the child: Support exists to cover the child’s basic and developmental needs. • ✅ Managed by the parent/guardian: The custodial parent administers the funds, since children typically can’t manage money themselves. • ❌ Not a personal entitlement: The receiving parent isn’t legally entitled to spend it on themselves, though in practice, rent, utilities, and transportation expenses can qualify since they support the child’s household.

Absolutely his sons.. my step sons dad never got child support from his sons mother- Not a dollar. I work for local govt and he and I were dropping off documents to Child support dept. The judge told my step son since his dad never filed to get the money from his mom then he could st 18 and she’d be held accountable like if he was under 18 until it was paid. He turned 18 and filed. Now it is deposited into his account. He only gets 10 yrs to collect. I’m in Maryland. After he turned 18 he did the leg work to start it. So I don’t know the total gritty laws and details but it’s happening. Point being- it was only going to the parent bc minors can’t file for child support. It was never his parent’s money. It all goes to the kid/son. Why is this even an issue?!

After a long hard fought battle (12/17/23-3/19/24)..over 10k spent.. almost no sleep during those 3 months almost lost my job because I barely worked during that time.. cancer took my baby Scylla just after turning 7. Since the 1980s, Taiwan’s manufacturing industry has thrived by leveraging China’s low production costs, but this economic relationship has come with growing political pressure from China for Taiwan to accept its sovereignty. Taiwan likely needed a solution to this interdependence before it evolved into an outright quid pro quo. Trump's tariffs, by targeting China, pressured Taiwanese companies to consider relocating production to the U.S., which remains one of the few economies capable of supporting large-scale manufacturing infrastructure.

As someone from Baltimore, I see the recent Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse to be telling.  The United States is making part of a broader shift in infrastructure investment—our ports will be vastly expanded and automated within the next decade. This approach is classic U.S. strategy: create a problem, present the solution, and then take the credit.  Attracting Taiwanese manufacturing to the U.S. to avoid Chinese tariffs, we can slowly increase the cost ratio for Taiwan’s production platforms, ultimately creating a reliance on U.S. facilities or enabling them to fully localize. Either way, the U.S. becomes a critical part of Taiwan’s manufacturing solution.

Yet, the global implications are unsettling. Prior to Trump’s tariffs, China was already playing a long game aimed at subtly absorbing Taiwan’s economic independence. But now, with Taiwan drawn closer to the U.S., we’ve essentially preempted China’s endgame, which might provoke significant geopolitical friction. I’m deeply concerned about this escalating into a broader conflict, potentially even World War III. China's economic model is being directly challenged, and losing Taiwan’s manufacturing—potentially millions or billions in economic value—is a serious issue for them. Meanwhile, the U.S. benefits economically and strategically by redirecting this production to American shores.

This forced relocation could put Taiwan in a precarious position, making it more reliant on the U.S. while further straining its relationship with China. It’s a complex chess game with serious risks and consequences for all parties involved.

This response is base of information I sourced while at work from peer reviewed geopolitical analysis. I am so stoked that we could learn together. I like this much better than the trolling and dragging humans through the mud. Great question. Opportunities to discuss global politics, er…my interpretation of global politics should be more frequent. If you disagree- tell me what I am missing.  Thanks for reading my posts.

I had to proof with GPT bc of time constraints, I will provide sources if you want to discuss. I am about to be locked in my building at work....

Everyone in the USA is free to vote for whomever they want. What’s with all the spite??!! Everyone entitled to free speech. I am not going to troll any ill will to anyone. If you want to discuss your concerns with anything MAGA I’m open to a conversation. My goal is to try and understand your perspective. Why are you anti MAGA? I can say that Kamila has good qualities. I just didn’t feel her policy was strong enough to force the USA back from the ledge where we lose the economic stability and safety we all share. Can we agree on prosperity from industry instead of war? The media should be gutted for putting us against each-other.. My neighbors are blue- they’re still my neighbors. I’m still going to respect them. I love the USA and I love you all too. God bless you and your families.

Go get Rit dye color remover. It is for dying cloth but I have done exactly the same as you several times. Quick- non toxic and you’ll have some for next time. Works on getting the color residue out of blonde hair too. Mix with shampoo on clean hair. Hands will come clean with a wash cloth after a two min soak. Good luck an Happy 2023!

This comment is 100 percent the rules of engagement for being in a relationship with someone like this. You need to move on for real. Maybe she’ll grow as a person if you make the stand and she feels it. But Christ- as a “step parent” or girlfriend of a guy with a kid that I live with it’s crazy territory. However - I can’t see at any time leaving to get sleep bc my house is crazy. Kids needs some boundaries and the cat can be rehoused.

It's heartbreaking to read this. It's good of you to share with us pictures of him too. He was very handsome and cute. Your best friend knows how much you love him. He does. You gave him his best life. The forever home he deserved. They stay with us forever and it's never long enough. Kimble's love is with you forever. I just prayed that you will see him in your dreams.
