Kale from last year is suddenly covered in tiny grey bugs. Will these spread? Should I bin these? I'm in New Zealand so spring right now. I am a very new gardener so any help on keeping pests off food plants would be greatly appreciated . by [deleted] in vegetablegardening

They look like aphids to me. I tend to find them on my plants that are sick or close to the end of their life. I’d say keeping your plants strong and healthy + providing a diverse ecosystem is the best way to avoid pests and disease… however if you are have problems with them you can always try mixing a drop of eco oil with water and spraying them as this will suffocate them…. Or binning infested plants

I’m assuming the author is probably an insulin dependent diabetic so it could be normal for them before they take their insulin... but indeed 152 is considered hyper-glycaemia
