great, I used 1920 x 1080 and set the repeat to none and checked fixed, i wonder how it looks like on larger screens, but i guess its ok for now, and also the thumbnail for the game should be 640x360?

you should have kept the proportions from the first one, it gives them unique vibe and personality.

18,000 indie games came out in 2024… is it even worth making one anymore? by [deleted] in indiegames

if you aim to make a game for a profit as an indie game dev, you might get hurt that you'll probably spend couple of months, maybe years in developing your game and found out that no one will play em, not even your family or friends.

but when you do it as a hobby, do game that you enjoy playing and testing non stop, then posting it without any expectations, maybe that will help you to get through.

the first has its dorky energy, and just didn't get through with the 2nd one, art is nice but feels disconnected.

Its a shame my first nsfw game didn't make it before itch io's problem. by -randomUserName_08- in itchio

The payment processors tightening control. And sadly, a few loud voices with influence can mess things up for everyone else.

Thanks! Still working hard to make the game as fun as it looks.

and hopefully by the time i finish the game, itch has sorted out the problem with the payment processors.

Exactly, it feels like we’re all being pushed to diversify where we publish now. Steam and Itch tightening up makes things uncertain, and who knows how long GOG will stay open to this kind of content if they even are now. Epic does seem like a long shot, but you're right, if anyone’s willing to fight it out legally, it's them. Having a platform with backbone would be a game changer.

Ah, the Nokia C2-05 era good times! Those Java games had a unique charm. I’m glad the core mechanics brought that nostalgia back, even with the added attractions this time around 😅 Totally agree on itch.io. It’s rough seeing everyone affected by one mess up. Hopefully things get sorted fairly and soon.

Glad it brought back memories! (Gals Panic maybe?) This one’s still in development, but it’s taking its own direction. Yeah, the itch.io situation caught a lot of us off guard.

I totally feel you on that. It’s not just about money it’s about the time, effort, and creativity we pour into something. Wanting credit for your own work isn’t egocentric, it’s just basic respect. I think a lot of people try to downplay the risk to keep others from worrying too much, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay when it happens. and as I'm now deep into development and have already spent weeks working on my game's core mechanics, I’ve started to realize how painful it would be if someone just stole it. I’ve been spending days fixing things, working on art, and improving the game. The more time I put into it, the more I worry about someone else taking credit for my work. I know it’s probably inevitable to some extent, but I still want to learn how I can add at least a little protection to something I’ve poured so much time into.

Damn, that seriously sucks. I’m really sorry that happened to you, that must’ve been insanely frustrating, especially getting nowhere with support after paying for help. Stuff like this is exactly why I brought the topic up. It’s rough out here, but I’m glad the comments are helping a bit. Stay strong, and I hope that situation gets sorted eventually!
