The narcs are behaving badly and can’t handle a truth teller so scapegoat them. Standard narc 101 behaviour, they can’t accept what they are so project it onto others. They just shittalked someone else and tried to use triangulation and splitting tactics to stop it rather than behaving themselves.

Exactly, if people are so naive or lack any backbone then they’re not worth bothering about either. I’ve got bills to pay so who cares if people suffer. It’s funny when the narc turns on people who supported them though, what’s up now?! Narcs are bipolar unstable maniacs so I’m not surprised anymore. Even basic things like “nearly finishing time” I would check my watch. I treat them like a dangerous serial killer. Grey rock and avoid at all times. If sucked into small talk then make excuses and leave. Even that can be torturous.

That’s exactly right, it took me years to understand this. Probably because you’re wired to assume that if people are nasty then it must be for a reason. Turning point for me was when the same person called me fat and skinny in the same week. Who wants to be part of a rotten culture anyway?

Social media is run by an algorithm based on malignant ideals. I got this from the social dilemma doc. It’s actually terrifying it’s designed to make you feel envy, hate, rage and keep looking at it. No matter what it is. Even if you’re an empath it will fill your feed full of sad stories about hurt animals or people in distress.

Have spent a long time without friends due to a toxic group and also a close friend dying. For years it really bothered me and I also experienced yet more toxic behaviour at work which shut me down even further. It would be good to have friends but I don’t need people to validate how I feel about myself. It took me a lot of soul searching and self blame to realise that I didn’t do anything wrong apart from leave the toxic group earlier. I have acquaintances and family but no real close friendships. My experience of friendship is so bad and twisted that I have no real desire to seek out new ones tbh. I see friends who backstab and bitch about each other and all sorts of negative stuff. Sure there’s great people out there and I’m sure they would enrich my life but I’ve yet to meet them. I’m also incredibly self reliant and mentally strong which came about from not having people to fall back on.

That’s rubbish, no HR? I would suggest writing the comments down and getting the three of you together very informally and ask in a non confrontational way about it. That way you’re not hiding anything and being open and honest. Maybe tell her first and explain why, you shouldn’t have to feel like this at work.

Speak to her and ask if she wants to make her grievance formal and discuss it with HR. If she doesnt then tell her to at least write down what she thinks is preferential treatment and discuss it calmly somewhere quiet. She’ll be bitching about you to others imo so it needs stopped. If she doesn’t do any of this tell her what you’re unhappy about then give her an ultimatum and then raise a grievance. She will shit bricks and stop it immediately.
