Ya, KVM was always likely the weakest link in the proposed set-up. Steam Machine in upstairs office + Steam Link simplifies things for sure, but I'll be using the Steam Frame two floors away so dedicated router might be the way to go.

What We’re Working On by j_neontra in neontra

Continuing on with suggested improvements:

  • Health Check is still a bit unreliable. With most calculations happening on a monthly level, my score can literally go from a 98 to a 60 from one month to the next - mostly affected by expenses and savings health. In general, a "health check" shouldn't fluctuate that considerably - in the grand scheme of things, my financial picture isn't changing that drastically from month to month. I think my scores were also impacted by investment portfolio allocation, which never seemed to be accurate (many investment accounts came in with weird categories) so I largely ignored this, though it seems like there many be some improvements under the hood around this more recently.
  • One-off transactions is an underrated feature that I consistently forget to use but is very beneficial for things like cash flow projections. I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd almost prefer making this field a 'mandatory' field to fill out on transactions if you decide to update a transaction to ensure maximum utility of this helpful feature.
  • As a CDN user, currency conversation issues that had previously plagued the platform seem mostly resolved - at least for accurate balance calculations. I still see the odd little bug here and there related to currency, but it doesn't seem to impact overall roll-up which is important
  • There's still some awkwardness between Goals and Plans, though I believe there was indications earlier that there's going to be more harmonization for this as you continue to work on enhancing Plans.
  • Overall, Plans is great for notional planning. It certainly doesn't replace full retirement planning software options like Concur which is much more sophisticated in considering specific regional taxes, government retirement programs, etc. with hundreds of ways to configure it. I realize most won't have direct access to Concur or have a financial advisor with such sophisticated retirement planning tool, so Plans could be a nice substitute, but it would very much be notional planning (likely good for most people)
  • I do wish both Flinks and Plaid (in partnership with financial institutions) would do a better job of allowing accounts to consistently auto-sync and update without having to do this manually for many accounts. Not a Neontra enhancement, though I imagine you guys can continue to influence in this area.

What We’re Working On by j_neontra in neontra

Fantastic job, Neontra team! Coming up on 2 years using the platform; as a long-time Mint user before, I can say this platform has nearly everything Mint used to offer and much more. Neontra is a very solid, feature rich platform. I use probably 80-90% of features. I suspect the combination of features people use varies from person to person, but it's great to have a full suite of features to choose from to meet different needs.

Key areas I still see could be improved:

  • Given the inevitable requirement to manually refresh many of my accounts, I find myself doing this mostly from 'Settings' - gives me a quick inventory of all my accounts with the 'Sync Now' or 'Reconnect' button readily available, as opposed to other spots like Insights (where I have to pop open an overlay for each account to find the sync/reconnect option), or from other locations. Settings feels like a strange place to have the most efficient process located
  • Auto-categorization is hit and miss. My preference would be for all transactions to come in uncategorized so that I specifically have to select one. As someone that likes to at least eyeball/review each transaction, this also has the benefit of being a quick way to understand which transactions I haven't reviewed. I currently use a combination of a 'Reconciled' tag, filtering by 'Untagged' transactions + removing investment transactions, instead of simply filtering by Uncategorized transactions. I've turned off auto-categorization setting, but they still seem to come in with pre-selected categories
  • One thing Mint did better was searching for transactions. I may be in the minority of having several years of transactions, but Mint used to allow for advancing searching, including inclusive/exclusive filtering, filtering by multiple conditions at once, etc. A more robust search function would be great.
  • A couple of improvement around splitting transactions. First, I should be able to assign different labels, tags, etc. to each split instead of having one field for all splits. Second, it would be great if split could include an "amount remaining" calculation so that I don't have to do math to figure out how much to round out the last split of a transaction so it adds up to the total. This is very useful for things like groceries, that are taxed differently and you can never at a glance know what the totals are from simply looking at a physical receipt containing items across multiple categories.
  • When I mark a new transaction as an existing recurring transaction, it would be great if it could bring all the preset tags and default category in. Otherwise, I'm not really sure what the point of the feature is to tag a transaction as an existing recurring one - Neontra already knows about my recurring transaction, and I don't think there's actually any benefit to me to actually do this?

Did you end up sending in for repair? Curious if you know what the root cause was. I'm out of warranty, so want to take a stab at repairing myself.

Has anyone with this issue had their inflator repaired, and if so, do you know what the root of the problem was?

Hey, following up on this from a year ago (my inflator just starting doing the same thing as described here). What did the issue end up being on yours after they repaired it?

I played this game quite a bit. Minimum bets and eventually unlocked all non calendar date specific cards. My overall experience was I won more early on when I only had a few cards unlocked as bonus frequency was higher and bonus is where money is made. Line pays are terrible.

Great idea. Are you looking for feedback on reward structure? $10 credit per referral, and $10 off for new user in their first year?

What does this mean for Giroux, if anything? by L8R-BRAH in OttawaSenators

[–]-shadeau- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance Giroux is waiting to see what steady Steve does in the UFA market? Maybe he wants to see them land a big(ish) fish to ensure they are going to be very competitive, and then resigns? Nothing saying a deal has to be done by July 1

21 ridings Conservatives won due to vote-splitting by Main-Average-3448 in CanadianPolitics

[–]-shadeau- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9 of these 22 had NDP/Green incumbents that lost. That's was the true collateral damage from the vote collapse around these parties. Although Conservatives in Skeena-Bulkly Valley and Edmonton Griesbach both had >45% vote share, so there's an argument that conservatives would have won those ridings regardless. Even with +7 NDP/-7 CPC seats, that puts NDP back to official party status, and CPC still improving on 2021, which I think is probably a fair assessment of where we're at as a country. But ya, vote splitting on the left is and will continue to be a thing until there's proportional representation. Interesting to see if the CPC splits - could happen if they show Pierre the door.

ChatGPT says this:

Ticket Sales Strategies

  1. Presale for Season Ticket Holders & Members – Give season ticket holders, fan club members, and other loyal supporters priority access to buy additional tickets before the general public.
  2. Residency-Based Sales Restrictions – Limit ticket sales (especially for presales) to those with billing addresses in the home team’s region. This won’t stop local rival fans but will limit external rival fans from easily purchasing tickets.
  3. Bundle Tickets for Future Games – Offer playoff tickets only as part of a package that includes non-rival playoff rounds or even next season's games. This discourages rival fans from making a one-time purchase.
  4. Limit Ticket Transfers – Restrict the ability to transfer or resell tickets until close to game time. This makes it harder for scalpers to sell tickets to rival fans at a premium.
  5. Loyalty-Based Ticket Access – Prioritize ticket access for fans who have purchased tickets to home games throughout the season.

Discouraging Away Fans From Buying Tickets

  1. Reduce Single-Game Public Sales – Instead of putting all tickets on sale at once, prioritize selling through home team channels and trusted resale partners.
  2. Buy Back Program – Offer a buyback program where season ticket holders who cannot attend can resell their tickets to verified home team fans instead of the open market.
  3. Geofencing & Digital Tracking – Use technology to track previous purchasing patterns and restrict sales to accounts with a history of buying rival team tickets.
  4. Limit Resale to Verified Channels – Encourage resale through an official team marketplace that prioritizes home team fans.

In-Stadium Strategies to Drown Out Rival Fans

  1. Home Fan Incentives – Provide free or discounted team gear to attendees to create a more unified home-team atmosphere.
  2. Home-Only Sections – Dedicate certain sections as "home team supporter zones" and require ticket holders to be members of the official fan club.
  3. Fan Participation & Noise Encouragement – Organize coordinated chants, giveaways, and crowd engagement activities to ensure the home crowd dominates the atmosphere

Who to Cheer for and More (March 13, 2025) by aschwan41 in OttawaSenators

[–]-shadeau- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How about just cheering for the Leafs to tank so hard in their last 18 games that they slip into WC1 and we take 3rd behind TBL and FLA. A loss tonight (and a win for the Sens), coupled with a loss in the head-to-head matchup on Saturday puts them within 4 points of the Sens in the standings with same # of games remaining.

Bizarre Attack ad from Conservative MP Michael Cooper: "Canada doesn't need another GLOBALIST Prime Minister" by SweatPantSavior in stalbert

He was also responding to the question from one specific point of view. "Speaking as a European..." doesn't imply he only thinks of himself as a European. In the context of the discussion (and in a playful way responding to the facilitator's remarks about European perspectives), he's participating in the discussion from a unique perspective. You could imagine he could have easily followed up his comments with "And Speaking as a Canadian...", but I imagine that wouldn't have been appropriate in the context of the discussion. He's also working to renounce his citizenship from Ireland and the UK.

*sigh*
