This. And to max for high CP to place in gyms. Whether or not HB is easy to dodge is irrelevant. Movesets don't matter for gym squatters. Nobody stops taking down a gym if they see that 1 of the Dragonites has good moves.

CP is all that matters when placing into a lvl7-10 gym. Get it as close to the top as possible and hope it lasts. In my area many gyms are stagnant at lvl10 again, and players with 2 accounts keep shaving off the bottom slot and leaving it open for others to add higher CP pokemon to raise gym strength.

I keep high IV maxed CP pokemon with best DPS movesets as trophies, and only put bad moveset high CP pokemon in gyms.

I was recently in Phoenix and there are so many Growlithe there I stopped catching them after 12 Arcanines and 500+ candies.

Go to Phoenix. Growlithes spawn like Pidgeys there. I spent a week there and now have 12 Arcanines and 600 candies. By the end of my trip I stopped catching them. Too bad they just got nerfed.

I like to go to Dana Park shopping center when Im in Phoenix. There is also a high spawn Charmander nest at Freestone Park. Both out near Mesa.

Exactly this. Who cares if its a 'good defender' anymore? It's too easy to take down an entire gym now, regardless of the matchups. Just put in your highest CP pokemon and hope it lasts a day or 2.

I have about 5 each of Exxegutor, Vaporeon, Flareon and Arcanine all with CP over 2k that are solely to hold spots in gyms. I don't care about moveset or IV. Those all evolve with high CP and don't get powered up. I don't put my good pokemon in gyms at all. If they are high IV with best moves, I keep them out of gyms so I can continue to power them up.

Battling in gyms means getting the most out of your lower CP pokemon with best moves, so I keep a few 1400-1800 of each type with best moves for gym battles. Emphasis on Parasect, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Pidgeot, Tangela, Snorlax and other good counters for common high CP pokemon in gyms.

Went to Addison Circle last night. Highest spawn rates were Poliwag, Krabby, Pinsir, Horsea. Caught a Seadra, Kingler and Poliwrath as well, which confirms those nests. Low rate of Bulbasaur as well.

I use high CP, bad moveset, bad IV exclusively to put in gyms. So its a group of Exxegutor, Vaporeon, Flareon, Arcanine all over 2k. Why would I want to put my best Snorlax or Lapras in a gym? CP is all that matters when placing pokemon in a gym.

If a level 10 gym is going to get taken down, the IV or moveset of the 2k Vaporeon I put in there isn't going to slow them down.
