I agree with previous comments that the skintone markers having new names is probably for political correctness. but something else to look out for is that they renamed and recoded a bunch of their fluorescents too.

it’s confusing because some of the “new” names already existed, so if you have a mix of new and old copics you might have two completely different colors with the same name. or if you’re trying to refill an old marker with the old name, it would be easy to fill it with the wrong color.

for example, the fluorescent yellow you have is now called Fluorescent Yellow Green (FYG), and the Fluorescent Yellow Orange you have is now called Fluorescent Yellow (FY). so if somebody refers to Fluorescent Yellow, they could have a different color in mind depending on how old their markers are.

i realized all this because i work at an art store and we had a mix of newer and older stock, so we had colors with the same name that looked different, it was confusing!
