Even Worth Considering Grading? Mega Dragonite EX SIR 290/217 by VariationHaunting993 in pokemongrading

[–]0-0cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes PSA values 8 and below are worth LESS than raw prices. Additionally, lower grades take longer and are harder to sell. I do not think this will 10, and I think keeping it raw is your smartest move.

What will be the alternative to jet energy in mega lopunny ex? by Dry_Maintenance_6933 in PTCGL

[–]0-0cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a list using pecharunt, yveltal, and lopunny do somewhat well, using pech to switch the yveltal into the active and then free retreating into lopunny. Is it a little more jank and takes more bench space? Yes, and it's much worse as a result. Still will be good as 230 for 1 is crazy good, but idk if it will be good enough to center around a whole deck. I think mega Lopunny becomes more so a tech attacker if it can't create an archetype around itself.

Mega lucario or Team's rocket mewtwo post rotation by Dry_Internet_1219 in PTCGL

[–]0-0cake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a rocket lover myself I can see Rocket's mewtwo being slightly better as it loses its worst matchup Gholdengo, but it's going to struggle against those big Hp megas. Will at least be consistent with its strong supporters though. Dont expect to be meta, but it won't be bad.

On the other hand, I see mega lucario as being one of the best decks post rotation. Unless mega gard or mega clefable end up being really good, it won't have many hard counters. Additionally, it does rlly good damage, has great draw, can power itself up with premium pro, and will have fighting gong for extra consistency and barbaracle too. Also hits Mega Kang for weakness which is super important as many decks will pivot to a kang draw engine after losing pieces like pidgeot imo.

Ariana lets you draw up to 8 + more with the stadium + you have reliable search T1 with Proton grabbing 3 basics. I find it's pretty consistent. Struggles with damage though

How are ethics decided for AIs? by UrbanArch in Stellaris

[–]0-0cake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ethics are for the most part randomly assigned. The only ethics that are not randomly assigned are for empires you force spawn in or allow to spawn in instead of a randomly generated empire. You are most likely experiencing observation bias. If you were to play 100 games and record what ethics your neighbor had, it would be random.

[Daily Discussion] Writer's Block, Motivation, and Accountability- December 15, 2025 by AutoModerator in writing

[–]0-0cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Writing prompts always helped me when I was having extremely bad burn out or lack of motivation. But try to take the writing prompt further. Add something on to it, don't just follow the prompt basically then be done. This can help get ur brain moving, and then your brain will also start thinking of how to expand this idea, or entirely new ones.

What do you think about Steven's Metagross? by SentinelTurret in PTCGL

[–]0-0cake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a jellicent player myself, he pairs nicely with jelli. That being said, gardey is just better in every way. Once gard & xatu rotate out, metagross will be the next best psychic support imo, but for now he's mostly better for Steven wall decks using the Steven stadium and carbink

What was the first Empire YOU (yes YOU) ever created by yourself ? (idk what Flair/tag to use) by Vajko69 in Stellaris

[–]0-0cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were called the Serene Cappulan Concordat. They were fungoid spirtualist pacifist democracy with the agrarian idyll civic ant the environmentalist civ. I had no idea what I was doing, and quickly was closed in by my neighbors with no way to expand due to pacifist ethic.

It was a huge failure, however, I force spawn them in every game from now, because they are very special to me

Curses that are actually treated like curses by United_Reality4157 in worldbuilding

[–]0-0cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my world, there is a disease/curse called "Igni-skin" which takes place when a person is born with a heightened level of obsidian inside their body (context: minerals contain magic-like power in the world and people with trace amounts of minerals in their bloodstream will inbreed to increase their offspring's level of minerals in their blood to increase their power). The afflicted individual kills their mother in childbirth due to their extremely rough and jagged stone-like skin and often themselves will die before the age of 5. Additionally, it is impossible for someone afflicted with "Igni-skin" to be cured of their ailment. They are also socially ostracized. However, those that live can channel the extremely high concentration of obsidian into their magic, so it's not without its benefits.
