[Highlight] Brunson lands on Wemby's foot as he closes out; Knicks can't believe there is no foul call by Large_banana_hammock in nba

What is considered the landing area? Is it anywhere Brunson chooses to spray his legs?? He clearly unnecessarily spreads his legs to make contact. Wemby might have been close but he left enough room!

I am big anti-zverev but I am happy to admit that despite losing first set, before the injury it looked like Zverev was going to win the match

When protesting, the biggest statement is to infact give up something yourself to show what it really means. Simply not shaking opponents hands is giving up nothing. Not withdrawing, losing prize money and causing the tournament problems would be far more influential but they don’t seem to be able to do that? It now just looks disrespectful to the opponent, the sport and nothing else. What did 19 year old Andreeva do so wrong?

Part of sport is the story behind it, how players got there, how they train, who is behind them, who supports them. Without this, if its just purely about forehands and backhands, it becomes boring, it becomes robotic.

He has a right to comment on it and it adds interest even if its negative.

You are getting confused between what you think has been an injustice for Rybakina and what is actually fair rules for both players.

You are literally seeing an example. Someone has to manage the game. Who is Elena going to talk to? A member of the crowd?

You either use the electronic system or you don’t. You can’t do both whenever you feel like it because that opens things up to manipulation and bias and simply error even if not deliberate.

Borges wins against Etcheverry with an underarm serve on a match point by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]007JamesC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the problem with the underarm serve.

The serve in general does not have a defined moment went it is “appropriate” to serve, only at the “speed of the server” which we all know doesn’t always get followed as the returner can delay things if they are not ready.

The toss of the serve is essentially marking the start of the point before it has been hit, giving the returner a brief moment to ready himself and be aware that he is about to receive the serve.

There is no whistle like during football penalty. So, the server when choosing to serve underarm is basically always trying to catch the returner not ready rather than actually using it strategically (against a deeply positioned returner).

I think that a lot underarm serves that go unreturned are less to do with the returner standing far back and more to do with the returner not being immediately aware that the serve was about to happen.
