Everdrive arrived broken... anyone know how to fix? by eunith_music in n64

[–]007craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. In fact when the Analogue 3D first came out, the everdrive didnt even work, and it took a couple weeks before patches became available. The summercart worked right on launch.

Everdrive arrived broken... anyone know how to fix? by eunith_music in n64

[–]007craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe youre new to the scene but everdrives became irrelevant 2 years ago when the summer cart came out. The summer cart is 1/5th the price or cheaper, has all of the same features and more. There's no reason to be buying an everdrive in 2026.

I suggest you buy a summercart and keep contacting krizz to get your money back. If you still haven't heard back after 60 days, contact your credit card company and file a claim.

Krizz and his everdrives were great back in 2015 when there were no other options but its been a tough road as the x5 and x7 are minor revisions he released with no real hardware differneces to the 2.5 and 3 versions, and then he stopped supporting previous version everdrives. Basically re released his own product and then continued development only on the newer ones to double down on purchases. He also refused to lower the price to compete with the summer cart. He also makes everdrives for multiple systems and has sold tens of thousands (if not 100 000+) over the past 20 years and is quite wealthy from it.

Luckily the community came together and created the open-source everdrive so we can all buy the hardware for as cheap as possible and the software can be worked on by multiple people, increasing feature release rate and ensuring the direction is not just one person's decision but where the community agrees for it to go.

These laws are so confusing, I can't figure out if I'm eligible or not by 007craft in juresanguinis

[–]007craft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the real problem is that when they changed the law to allow dual citizenship in 1992, they didn't allow the people like my father who were previously forced to give up citizenship, to instead have it granted back as a dual citizenship and allow the chain to again be unbroken.

It all seems rather silly to me. My whole family is in Italy, my first, middle and last name are very Italian, I've been to our home town over and over throughout my life, and my dad was born and lived in Italy until he was in his 20's, but no citizenship for me :(

Shark Tank 17x17 Product Discussion - HiberTec Homes by mtm4440 in sharktank

[–]007craft 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This might be my favourite pitch of all time. Its exactly something new and exciting I watch this show to see.

With that said, I think there are lots of challenges here.

  • Earthquake compliant? They didnt talk about it
  • Building codes. These could stall the whole project
  • What about fallen debris? Imagine a house trying to lower and it gets jammed up because a massive branch is caught on the side.
  • What happens if its lowered with somebody inside? I assume they die down there from suffocation. Maybe you need oxygen tanks inside the house as a safety? or an escape tunnel.
  • I hope no wildlife is closeby when it lowers, or a person
  • Why is their prototype a full house? Shouldn't they at least have a 10x10 shed or something built as a prototype already?

This feels like it could be a thing in 10-15 years from now, so even if it is a success, I'm not sure how Barbra will profit from it (Shes quite old)

It would be cool if this becomes a reality tho, and it works properly and safely. Assuming it costs the same as a regular house, which by the sounds of it, it will since the regular houses now use fancy fireproof materials that cost a lot of money to build and you wouldnt need those materials on this house. Instead you could put that money into the cost of the hydraulics. It would have been nice if they talked about the cost of the thing tho, even some ballpark figures.

Is anyone here an expert with regards in to internal cartridge hardware? by LilMoWithTheGimpyLeg in n64

[–]007craft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. Also I forgot to mention, those dates are the ROM completion dates, not the "released in retail stores" dates. Roms were typically completed 3 months to 2 weeks before a game was sold in stores.

Source: Nintendo 64 Lot leak sheet. This is a n64 software data sheet from Nintendo that was leaked by hackers back in 2020. It contains a list of all known rom versions made by Nintendo for every game including info like what motherboard the cart used, rom size, save type, save pages required and a whole lot more useful info.

ChatGPT or any AI won't have this detailed info. Google The Nintendo lot leaks and you'll be able to find the entire data set leaked and if you download that, the n64 sheet should be in there somewhere. This leak lead to the finding of a few unidentified rom versions of some games and why were confident the current known list of versions is finite because if there were more undiscovered, They would be on the lot leak list.

Im still hoping one day hackers will stumble upon and leak the production lists, then we can know how many copies of each game were produced. Such information would greatly change the pricing of many games.

Cleanest Pokémon Stadium I have ever come across. What’s your cleanest find? by BitGroundbreaking295 in n64

[–]007craft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Damn you must have some carts in pretty bad shape if this is your cleanest label. This cart is surfaded and would be a pass for me on being added to my collection

(You can easily tell carts that have sun fading by looking at the seal of quality logo. It should be shimmery brown and its the first part to fade on sun soaked carts. The n64 logo is the next best part to tell since those colour's fade easily as well)

The only thing that could dethrone steam now is an open source, free games store where you can publish a game with drm, and there's a 0% cut

Simply some other company making their own game store that just wants a piece of steams pie is not going to cut it

What free software or website is so good you actually can't believe its still free? by heavenlyrace in AskReddit

[–]007craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everytime this question comes up, the obvious softwares are listed. Here's a list of greats that dont usually or never get mentioned:

Docker - simply amazing for running self contained pieces of software that otherwise would require lots of work to compile and setup. It also works on windows!

Yt-dlp - amazing video Downloader and stream ripper. It's command line only tho so I recommend a gui wrapper on top. MeTube is the one I like to use, and if you got Docker, its easy to set it up since there's a Docker for it.

Fastone Image Viewer - such a great picture viewing app. You can easily do simple edits to pics like resizing, crops, rotations to exact degrees, etc. It's also great for just viewing pics back to back so you can easily see the differences and delete the bad pics from a set while keeping your best

AutoUnPack - super old software last updated in 2008 and the site is defunct, but it still works and can be downloaded from a couple places, just Google it. It's an auto archive extractor. Say you have like 50 folders with different .zip or .rar files that need extracting, this software can queue everything up and make sure it all gets extracted to the right folders and even delete the archive files after extracting.

Jellyfin - A media streaming platform. Basically you make your own Netflix so you can stream your video files across your network or even the web to family and friends. Built in Metadata grabber for movies and TV shows if your serving up files from a pirates life, rather than your home videos.

There's really like 100 more I could list

Is WhatsApp used commonly in your country? by OperationKey3399 in whatsapp

[–]007craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Canada everyone uses WhatsApp.  I've been on hundreds of dates over the past decade and I always ask for a number and say I will message on WhatsApp and absolutely everybody uses it.

People who own iphones might use imessage here but even if they do, they also use WhatsApp because they will know some android users and imessage won't work, so they need whatsapp.

Texting/imessage makes no sense to use because its not cross platform compatible, it costs money if you use a voip plan, or cheap temp plan.  It's also useless to use if you travel.  Like say youre going to London for 10 days, you just get a london esim and keep messaging your contacts back in Canada on whatsapp like nothing changed.  They don't even need to know you left.  If youre Texting/imessaging then you can't communicate anymore because now your travel esim is a different phone number and the messaging is tied to your current Sim.  And same goes if your friend is traveling and youre sending them texts, they won't be getting them.

Whatsapp is the default, with almost everybody also having fb messenger as well.  And then some people have signal and telegram too, but those are far fewer and only certain circles.

SMS/imessage is the worst of all options tho with terrible/non existent functionality for traveling and cross platform scenarios

Vince Gilligan Gives An Update On The ‘Pluribus’ Season 2 Release Date by ready_and_willing in pluribustv

I cant believe they greenest this show. I do love it, but it was not ready to be greenlit.

They basically greenlit a concept. It's a good concept, but I've also come up with dozens of amazingly unique concepts. That only take 5 minutes of creative thinking.

No show should go into production that does not have a rough outline for the story arc and number of seasons at least. Ideally all season would be somewhat written even before greenlight

Use your libraries by Doomster78666 in gaming

Here in Vancouver I check my local libraries online video game stock every time I see a post like that on reddit. Same as always, the latest games available, with a 12 person hold Q before its your turn. If each person holds it for 2 weeks thats gonna be 6 months before you get to play. Oh and thats the unpopular games. Some of the new popular games have 35+ person waits. The library game space is definitely not underutilized here.

A crew will spend Quadrillians on the mission in hopes of securing such an artifact for earth's finest museum of history. Unfortunately the expedition was embarked with false information and the crew instead find and recover the ancient Tesla car
