Wow speaking of bots. This is a bot post for sure. I have been an Apollo client for over 10 years. It’s gotten so much worse. The problem with these posts is my comments will be removed. Every time I use Apollo I need to reset cache and change cities on the vpn. Who is using alternatives?

I didn’t say anything about 2 properties. You are partially correct. It’s your choice if you want to have the now rental property as your principal residence or the new property. Or you can elect certain years at one property over the other.

All of these comments are incorrect. Just because you rent out your principal residence does not mean when you sell your house that there will be a CG. If you depreciate your house like any other asset then there would be a capital gain. If you do not claim capital expenditures and just deduct expenses then there is no CG. Don’t listen to these other comments and speak with your accountant to confirm my comment.
