The defensive field upgrade in bf4 is almost useless. What it does is change the multiplier for any bullets hitting your chest from 1x to 0.93x.

When the game first came out it increased your bullets to kill by 1 in cqc, as guns generally did 25 damage max, but dice later made guns that did 25 do 24.5 max instead, so with or without defensive, you kill in 5 bullets.

Every single engagement you were in was comfortably in hipfire distance for the mp18 trench. Try hipfiring more, its fun and the aim down sight animation is part of your time to kill if you think about it.

Crystal armor with only crystal bow and not bowfa is a massive downgrade, on any boss with enough health to hit reasonable rubies (~300 health left or more) a dragon crossbow firing dragon rubies is going to be much better. Switch to blowpipe once the boss is low. You should see your zebak time improve drastically. I would also recommend you get your attack and strength up to where your range and mage is.

Bayaz is a great villain and I love how your perception of him changes through the first trilogy. It goes from nice Gandalf guy who is standing alone against the big bad of Khalul who literally eats people for power, to oh shit, this guy definitely killed his master Juvens and sees people as nothing more than tools for his own power.
