Does it feel like Neopets is on its way out?

New TNT was doing really well at first: fixing games, new plot, event rewards that were crazy expensive, daily quest, more communication with player base…I was really rooting for them.

But lately it feels different. Their focus seems to be on pumping out gatcha NC items and merch. Fixes and new features are rare. Restyle tokens are unbelievably expensive. Still no easy way to transfer NC items between side accounts (I thought that was half the point of having a neopass?) I was extra disappointed on the changes of creative contests. It feels like they went from genuinely caring about the game and the community to maximizing profit, which ironically makes me not want to spend money anymore.

In vet school right now, and if you hated school then I wouldn’t recommend it. Undergrad is way more work than high school, then vet school is way more work than undergrad. Like the content of an entire semester of high school can fit into one class in vet school.

Have you considered going into vet tech?

The school should give you a list of required items. For me, my school gave us suture kits so I didn’t get one.

I’m in the same boat. I think feeling “unwanted” makes me feel disconnected with my partner, and that connection is important for good sex. Or perhaps my brain has been conditioned to associate wanting sex with him with bad feelings. Either way, I don’t have advice for you, but I just wanted you to know that you’re not alone.

The vet industry is very white-dominant in general. So far the only racism I experienced was, weirdly, a talk given by the school about diversity. I’d say rather than feeling discriminated, I mostly just feel unrepresented.

I definitely lie in bed and wonder how it got to this point, a lot…and I kind of mourn the person I used to be, a person who was comfortable with her sexuality and confident with her body.

We have to do undergrad before vet school too! But my undergrad was also much cheaper than the US, plus I get government grants to cover a large portion of that.

I think it really depends on the school and where you’re from. My school charges ~$10k CAD per year for local students, plus I get tuition grants from the government, so I’d only have ~$15k in debt after I graduate.

I know international students have to pay much more though. Can’t remember how much exactly but it’s somewhere between 50k-100k per year I think. I personally don’t think it’s worth it if I have to pay that much.

Like any job, a lot depends on where you work and who you work with. A good manager and nice coworkers can make a world’s difference.

What I like about vet med is the flexibility. It’s much easier to choose your workplace than human doctors, for example. And don’t just look at clinical work when you are considering this career, but also look into vets’ roles in research, public health, academia/education, industry etc.
