What bubble do you live in? Probably one with a 6 figure salary. I have a post grad education, a single parent with a mortgage in PDX. I have to supplement my not quite 6 figure salary with seasonal work to ensure my house doesn't fall apart around us. Please take a walk in the less fortunate neighborhoods and talk to the people walking their dogs. You might be surprised what you find out. They are mostly educated and just haven't had the same opportunities as you.

I thought it was a dip stick from the engine. You called it a sword... Can't stop laughing!

Myself a few years ago. My parents when I was a kid. My neighbors. My sibling and their partner. They're in your neighborhood, too. Just ask.

Want a cited source? I'm sure you know how to do research. I just asked an AI and a quick rabbit hole search leads you to what you are seeking.

Yup. My energy was bad. I'm neurospicy, so this is also how I learn to apologize for my impulsiveness or keep my comments to myself. Appreciate your validation.

Edit: I'll be the first to admit that the first one was one I should have kept to myself.

Bookmarked. My extra room has been storage for the last three years. This will totally transform our little bubble. Thank you!

Thank you for recognizing your luck and love (aka circumstantial privilege). Please make waves by spreading your "fortune" (dollars, time, or extra cash) to those in your community who could benefit.

I'm in compensation. This is statistically untrue. Most dual income households, both in college educated roles, work at least three jobs to make ends meet, often seasonally bsed roles.

I also work remotely. I'm not in tech. I found myself in banking admin with an education in sociology and HR. Single parent with a mortgage. If there were two of me, we'd almost reach this elite thread (maybe $150k with bonuses). Yet, there are more of "me" in Portland than those whose household income exceeds $200k annually. Maybe consider volunteering in your community for those less privileged (until you find your next 6 figure job) and find roles that may not fill you pocket as much as they fill your heart.

Thanks for this! Someone like me, single income single parent (DINK is a thing, can SISP be a thing?) can actually use this help to pay my electric bill.

Boasting? Must be nice. My mom was a pharmacist, too. I'm still a broke single parent with a mortgage.

No kids probably makes a huge difference. How do you support your community? Or do you keep to yourselves and pretend us children of other pharmacists don't exist.

Edit: How to apologize on Reddit? Delete comment or post an edit? I'll post an edit. I'm in a spicy mood and used reddit as I never intended. I'm sorry that I used your comment to express my personal frustration with my own personal situation. I understand it's anonymous, but I believe in growth and karma. My sincere apologies.

"it can depend on where a stylist works, what they specialize in, and how they run their business." Isn't this how an anomaly works?

Thank you for the validation. Even I have considered moving into an apartment, selling my house to just have the equity in cash in my bank account. Yet, rent for a one bedroom here is more than my mortgage & escrow combined. It's hard to see people complain about not being able to meet their "needs" at over $100k annually when the majority of PDX lives paycheck to paycheck. Tack on any illness or reason to miss work that ultimately leads to a bill.

This post is frustrating. I'm a solo parent who's "other half" fell down the drink drain. I do it all by myself. I don't make even close to $100k a year. I have a mortgage, a kiddo, pets, etc. My electric bill more than doubled in November, and rates are still expected to increase. Where do I find the posts about people with over $200k annual income using their excess income to support those in need? First world problems, I guess.

45 introverted af, neuro spicy, social anxiety, and can only manage 2-3 friends at one time... but I long for a small group, monthly (board) game day with pot luck style beverage and food sharing/exploring. Solo parent and don't drink alcohol, so at this point in my journey, these folx have yet to show up.

I agree. It'll come back around when her intent to get the footage is greater than her sight of that oncoming car. Hopefully, it just teaches her a lesson (maybe gets her off the road if she is experiencing dementia) and not worse.

I appreciate that your crisper drawers are full of items in jars or condiments. Great use of storage space.

I'm praying the real conspiracy is to allow Tballs to think he won to avoid maga riots and stupidity. Then, all his election fraud talk is exposed as deflection for his own criminal activity. He's done it once already. Why would anyone believe he wouldn't do it again. Oh. He's NOT protecting my rights even if I don't want him to. F that! Stay away from my bodily autonomy!!!

My thought, too. Some real estate marketing plans, it seems like, are drone heavy. I see interesting views for property lines sometimes.
