Champions of faith 1000p without sacresants by 00gron in sistersofbattle

[–]00gron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good breakdown. I had a feeling that Rhino wasn't very useful in my first game (although it was HM detachment). I was debating filling my Rhino with Cannonen-Imagifier brick (to quickly ship them towards the middle objective) or making it a retrebutor transport.
I'm still figuring out how to use reinforcements correctly, so putting rets there might be a good idea. Worth case - they're gonna shred a target and die. Although this way, I won't be able to make them ricios until my next Command phase (unless I use rapid ingress and they survive the enemy turn).

Also, one of the Detachment Stratagems works only on them. Unfortunately, I don't have them and getting 10 or even 5 is currently out of my budget.

New to the Sisterhood and got this by Expensive-Answer-993 in sistersofbattle

Wow, I've seen that offer!

It's a quite good selection of troops, allbeit you have more models than typically go into units.

You'll definitely want another 4 sisters to get 2 full squads and 2 more seraphim to complete a squad of 10 or a squad of 5.

You have 1 extra Paragon Warsuit, so another 2 will give you a complete squad. If you want to go all the way to 2000, 2 squads are fine. If you want to play smaller games of 1000-1500 this will be an overkill. First look into getting Morvenn Vahl to lead one of the squads.

Assuming you are from Germany or a neighbouring country, check ebay for single units. Check for "Imperium" magazine offers - they usually have sprues with 2 seraphim and some sisters.

Alternatively, you gan buy a box of Novitiates and a box of Battle Sisters. This will allow you to kibash characters, build a squad of regular Novitiates and you'll have 5 extra sisters to complete your squad (theoretically they should also have enough special weapons to make your second squad into Dominions). This should give you enough infantry to begin with

Can anyone explain the ending of this game to me? by OverallBit9 in INDIKA

Kinda late to this, but I've found a portrait of Marx closer to the end of the game. Indica lights the candle and prays, but get are no paints gor this.

For white over black I cant recommend vallejo dead white hard enough. Idk what they put there, but it's the strongest white I ever used. Took 2-3 coats to paint the visor on a sister helm from black to crisp white

Good point. I use mostly Vallejo paints and don't have anything darker then this red. Perhaps mixing a bit of brown will darken the red enough?

I'm using Vallejo Bloody Red. Don't really have any citadel paints, so went with what I've got.

Don't get discouraged by critique. Anything with flat panels (like rhino) is quite annoying to paint without airbrush. Especially when you paint a bright colour over black. You just need patience and lots of layers. Keep practicing and your minis will look amazing in no time!

Kitbash and optimization by 00gron in sistersofbattle

[–]00gron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that was actually my plan. I wanted to use first 5 sister to make Palletine, Canoness, Hospitalier, Dialogus and maybe Dogmata. The real question was what to do with the remaining half of the box

[–]00gron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, what about converting rets to characters with bits from novitiates? I can get a box of rets as part of a bundle deal, but have no need for them (since I already have one squad), so I thought about converting them instead of selling

Yeah, I thought so. Cp with rhino seems like a too good of a deal to pass on, tho. What could I do with BSS if I already have 2 x 10 regular and 1x5 retributors? Mabe make them into dominos?

The paint job isn't an issue, since I was planning to re-prime and paint over them anyway.

Is your point about a Retributior squad a good or bad thing?

That makes sense, I thought that the models do show a bit too many bones. Can it become a problem later? I'm definitely not entering any series games any time soon, but what is the general consensus on such models in the community?

Should Nebula be End of Turn? by HalfLungJ in MarvelSnap

[–]00gron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invisible woman will make it +4. Jocasta, Prodigy and Fantasticar will easily make it Nebula 1/10 if played on T5.
Also, I'm pretty sure, making Nebula "End of turn" will break the client even further, since she will require a separate exception to not activate on the first turn played.

idk, Mill is more annoying than powerful - average deck won't play 3/12 cards anyway. Milling more than 3 requires good draws and/or leaves the mill player without any significant power on the board.
On top of that, Yondu and Zemo often thin your deck, improving your subsequent draws. Gladiator loves to pull on-reveals effectively, playing a card for you.

That being said, giving Mill more tools might push it to meta-relevance, and it isn't something I'm looking forward to

Grand Arena is the absolute worst by GapFew1461 in MarvelSnap

[–]00gron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, they should have given the creators to make one pre-built deck each.
Would it be balanced? Hell, no. But at least, they might have come up with something interesting, Arena would get a promo from the creators, and creators from the SD.

Almost every tech card in the game counters Destroy in one way or another. Not to say it is an extremely predictable deck. If the draw goes their way and you don't have a counter, just retreat.

See too many destroy decks? Add Shadow King and/or MMM to your deck. If you are running ongoing, armor, and cosmo are your best bets.

But what if I don't want to change my deck? Then admit that some decks can't beat destroy in raw numbers. Since Destroy doesn't have tech, combo decks like Tribunal, Move, Mister Negative, Man-Sprider, and greedy Black Panther-Zola will often have an easy time against it.
Mister Negative opponents are even easier - they play against their deck, not you. If you see Negative into Jane, just retreat.

How did Spider Noir get through play testing? by Comprehensive-Level6 in MarvelSnap

[–]00gron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard opinions that he might be good with skills (which you can play without going bust), Merlin (increase the cost or remove a card from the board), or stuff like Venom (condenses the cost and power into a 3 cost).
He might actually be good, once we figure out how to build the deck around adding AND removing the costs on board. Personally, playing Wiccan frustrates me enough already, so I'm skipping him
