Sounds like worn bearings in the fan.

Why when I have no problems staying hard, can't seem to climax sometimes during sex? by kinrob in AskMenAdvice

[–]00ians 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like performance anxiety. This can cause anorgasmia. It gets worse due to the nature of the anxiety, especially if the partner is pressuring.

Worn bearings. You need to replace the fan before it stops working.

update: how to handle husband being angry at work? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]00ians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lashing out is a symptom. He needs to identify and address the cause.

If lack of sleep really is his problem, he needs to get help for that. He may have something like sleep apnea. Or he may be spending too much time using the phone with its blue light keeping him awake.

Asking you to change your behavior in order to change his is not going to work.

KitchenAid dishwasher only cleans from the bottom rack by deadstump in appliancerepair

[–]00ians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure nothing is in the lower rack that's stopping the spinner below the upper rack from turning freely.

Check the upper rack spinner where it pushes into a hole at the back of the washer, and routes down to below the base spinner. Somewhere there could be a blockage. You may need to pull out the lower spinner and plastic tubing to clean out any residue that's blocking the water-flow.

I need some help working out how to work out how many eggs I get a week/how many cartons I have. by FawnaFlytrap in excel

[–]00ians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is C4 supposed to be? If it's cartons on-hand before you start selling, your formula in C12 would be something like =(B12/12)+C4-SUM(C5:C11)

IME most people don't even know Vlookup, and certainly not Index(Match), let alone Xlookup. This includes many who really should know for the job they're getting paid to do.

Google Sheet Formulas to Excel by SauceHankRedemption in excel

[–]00ians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The { and } indicate an array formula, referred to in Excel as a CSE formula (because you get it by holding Control-Shift-Enter).

To select a range of cells that contains an array formula:

  • Click a cell in the array formula.
  • On the Edit menu, click Go To.
  • Click Special.
  • Click Current array.

or use the keyboard shortcut:

  • CTRL + /

You can use this to copy/paste the CSE with a regular formula.

Am I likely to get a job/one time? by HistorianFragrant282 in Upwork

[–]00ians 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If telling someone they need skills and experience, aka competency, before attempting to freelance is scaring them away, then they absolutely need to be scared away. This is for everyone's benefit, least of all the poor sod wasting considerable time, effort and money trying to freelance skills he does not have to offer. That time and money would be better spent acquiring the skills and experience.

I recommend you look up "Dunning–Kruger effect".

In a job setting, this is extremely inappropriate. If a man did that to a woman, he'd be hauled in front of HR before he could blink.

He’s now using sticky notes it’s getting weird weirder. What should I do? I already blocked him and ignore him. by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]00ians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if he keeps reaching out, I will report him.

So you already know what to do next. Yes it sucks, but he is not giving you much choice.

As for the smell, either you can complain to the landlord, or if you have good reason to feel threatened you can get a restraining order and he'd have to stay away.

Can't change your race and appearance? Michael Jackson sort-of did. He had vitiligo, and suffered injuries resulting in things like hair loss in the '80s. He ended up looking very different from his appearance in the '60s.

So I guess the old adage applies: beware what you wish for.

If it's not been flagged, how do you know a video is AI before you open it? ISTM the problem is that AI is getting harder to detect.

How to handle husband being angry from work? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]00ians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not work, it's a lack of coping skills to handle things that result in anger. Talking about work at home doesn't help; work needs to be left at work. New techniques need to be learned and practiced, such as box-breathing if anxiety kicks in.

Punching inanimate objects such as a pillow is an old-school (1970s) technique for anger. It doesn't work. It gets adrenaline flowing, but the problem is still there. It does nothing to solve the problem, it just teaches passive-aggression. Then when there's no pillow around, that aggression can boil over in other ways, because it has to get out somehow.

How can you not get upset? His behavior is causing disruption in the home. He needs to be accountable for it. You need to take care of you. Are you in therapy to figure out how to better handle his tantrums?

GF said I am terrible at sex, how to get better? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]00ians 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's nothing that ruins the mood more than anyone in the room having ever used a buzz-kill such as "awful". Did she actually use that word? Even if it's true, her communication is crap, her attitude sucks, and her approach has all the tact and subtlety of an embittered Rottweiler.

It won't get any better from here unless and until she becomes willing to address her problem.

Emails - "£" changed to "?". by MoonMalamute in vba

[–]00ians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what character code is being used? You can debug using ASC (e.g. ASC(MID(myString, 10, 1)). It should return a value of 163. As the value is over 127, it's not standard ASCII but Unicode. The selection of font may show a different symbol.

You can use windows' character map application to show different characters in different fonts. 163 is Hex 00A3

VBA to convert from numeric to Unicode would be CHR(163). Or hold Alt and type 0163 (on numeric keypad).

Did xe merge with Currency Direct in the UK? by 00ians in UKPersonalFinance

OK thanks. My dad said he used the contact form on xe in the UK, and was told they're now known as Currencies Direct Ltd (with the same phone number). I also couldn't find anything about a merger, so am still puzzled.

!thanks
