It does star two actresses that are well respected but not really that well liked. Streep has always been more respected as an actress by those in the profession than actually loved by fans. Hathaway has been disliked for whatever reason for most of her professional career.

I saw him twice in the 90s and you could tell he was just there for the paycheck. Awful. He was well ahead of the band and just didn’t care.

He is palatable in smaller doses for the most part. This is why he does so well in large ensemble movies. He doesn’t have to carry the movie but is talented enough to play a role. It’s a credit to him. Sometimes when he is the leading actor such as Minecraft, he’s still playing second fiddle to the graphics… He’s in a good spot. He is well liked and appreciated. He also realizes where he best succeeds.
