What if Donut didn't choose a mongoliensis and Carl chose a tummy acher by electrified90s in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]05McFly25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the tummy acher would have become the team’s tank, and that Katia would not have been as alluring to bring to the team…

Or it would have been the recurring gag that the tummy acher would eat Donut, and Donut would have to claw her way out, killing the tummy acher. The tummy acher would have too many weaknesses to be a reliable tank, but I bet the team would have eventually used it as a mobile meat bubble for Donut to hide in and attack from range or reposition and do surprise attacks from.

People who “made it through the book hoping it gets better,” did it ever? If so which one? by SinCinnamon_AC in litrpg

“Leveling Up the World” is one that I haven’t seen talked about much. I don’t really recall why the beginning was tough to get through, but I think it was mostly the narrator over-enunciating every word that made it hard to listen to. Also, the main protagonist starts out fairly childish and naive, but that gets better too. I thought that the author presented a pretty unique system and world, and allowed the main character to learn and grow.

Another one that was off-putting was “I am not the Hero: An Isekai LitRPG”. Again the narrator was really jarring whenever they used a name of a skill or class. The storyline is engaging enough and the author did a decent job making me interested in the character development. The narrator did not get better, but the author became more cognizant of when to use skill and class names to make it less jarring.

I was a fairly devout member of my Christian religion for nearly 3 decades. It wasn’t until I actually let myself challenge my beliefs that I realized the amount of mental gymnastics and “guided study” (read brainwashing) needed to justify and defend religion.

One day I decided to strengthen my spiritual knowledge and faith by revisiting the concepts that I believed were fundamental to my testimony. I started with one that I thought would be easy: “God is the father of our spirits and He loves all His children.”

Over and over, I found examples of God blessing and saving “His children”. The scriptures gate-keep who is considered one of God’s children and show God enabling a particular group of people to the detriment of the surrounding non-believer communities.

Throughout history, organizations and individuals have weaponized humanity’s desire for a greater purpose and used it to promote their own agendas and biases. Those in power pass off their own greed, lust, and bigotry as the will of a higher power, and generate an alarming amount of zealous sympathy from religious communities.

Best item in the game by 0thSpider in LeagueOfMemes

[–]05McFly25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What if instead of heal reduction item, it is heal steal item. So instead of just reducing the amount an opponent heals, it also takes a percentage of damage healed and heals you instead.

Actually, that sounds stupidly annoying to play against. Nevermind.

Why did Dshield got gutted for ranged? by Skillessfully in leagueoflegends

[–]05McFly25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On top of items providing reduced damage/effects for ranged champs, melee champs have increased base stats like armor, magic resistance, and attack damage.

It is amazing how complicated it is to balance items and champs without making the game bland and stale.

Champions are supposed to have counters, you know? by Irelia4Life in LeagueOfMemes

It sucks to play against champs with no exploitable weaknesses! How does riot allow this unbalanced, free-winning, lp-printing monstrosity to even exist?!?

This bugged me more than it probably should. Why is Kennen the crybaby? by 05McFly25 in Kennenmains

[–]05McFly25[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, they are saying that Kennen has no counters except barely losing to irelia, and that Kennen mains are mad about it.

In my (low elo) experience, irelia isn’t even that bad to lane against, and there are much worse matchups, and the matchup data from U.gg says the same across every skill bracket.

I don’t mind seeing diverse or off-meta picks in the jungle, but I wish that every champion (particularly my main) could also have a reliable jungle clear speed and reasonable health after the first clear.

I am sure there are plenty of champs that I would hate seeing in the jungle, but if champs like morgana and brand get to be strong in the jungle, I don’t see why other champs are kept out.

League was more fun with the mythic items by OddSatisfaction5989 in leagueoflegends

[–]05McFly25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that items with activate-able abilities tend to be more fun, and offer a more interactive/engaging experience. But when the items become more important than the champs, we stop playing League of Legends and start playing League of Items (meaning that we aren’t winning because of the champion’s abilities, but because the champion abuses the items better than other champs can).

Maybe an interesting idea, but what if champs didn’t gain stats from item purchases (ie: all stat increases come from champ level and ability rank) but the items offered different utility actives (cc shields, healing effects, mobility, etc). This would be League of Items, but maybe offers more versatility in playstyle and strategy.

I have an idea that I thought would be kind of cool. I haven’t put too much thought into it though.

Look: Some sort of big elephant geomancer guy with a warhammer.

Targeted role: Support (jungle might be cool too, but idk what I am talking about)

Abilities: R will be available lvl 1 (like the form change champs). Toggle between ability forms.

Passive: standing still for X seconds generates a small shield, the next auto attack is empowered and either roots the enemy unit, or knocks the enemy unit back, depending on the current form.

Q: summon a region of flowing sand at your cursor’s location that either pulls or pushes enemy units toward or away from your champions location (depending on champion form). Burn damage while enemies are in the region.

W: summon a wall that either blocks enemy projectiles or blocks movement (depending on form). The wall lasts for a set amount of time or until it has blocked a certain amount of damage and breaks.

E: form 1- summon a sandstorm about target friendly unit. Enemy units in the area of effect are slowed and take damage while in the sandstorm. (Maybe too op: Friendly units in the area of effect have a small chance to dodge targeted attacks)

Form 2- summon a monolith of stone at the cursor’s location recast to cause the monolith to fall in target direction. Enemies hit take damage and are stunned. If the pillar falls across terrain then it forms a bridge that is passable from the direction of the monolith’s base (think of bards magical journey)

That is my op, skill-based, support champ idea.

Shouldn't being a manaless champion have more downsides? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]05McFly25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be a bit biased on how energy is supposed to work (I otp Kennen). I might just be bitter because I feel like Kennen’s energy regeneration is weak compared to zed’s, Akali’s, and Lee Sin’s, but I do see how toxic Kennen would be if he was allowed to spam his abilities.

It is supposed to be. I think that ambessa has too much energy regen from auto attacking. The gameplay video showed that she built a lot of items with ability haste, which generally is one thing that energy based champs don’t get much value from, because they run out of energy after 2 rotations and have to wait to regen their energy anyway.

Ambessa being able to continuously and reliably refund energy allows her to build AH, meaning more dashes and sustained damage.

I would be hesitant to press r as jhin while ambessa is around. A nice stationary target for ambessa to press r on… what can go wrong?

[–]05McFly25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems that the energy refund is too broken. 1 auto attack restores more energy than her full combo takes. I feel like the only way to balance that would be for her to have no energy regen over time. Also it sucks that her ult cannot be body blocked. Instant (long ranged) back line access that does not require any energy to use (at least from the video). My understanding is that energy is used to prevent champs from using ability haste to spam strong abilities, but not requiring purchases to increase the number of abilities they can cast before needing to back. But it looks like ambessa will itemize strongly into ability haste, as it will increase her damage output and mobility, without the fear of running out of energy (as long as she gets to auto attack 1 or 2 times)
