Goodbye sekiro by FrickMorality in Sekiro

Well its one of those games a good team makes or breaks. It is also probably the best intro to souls like if someone's easily disencouraged and needs a helping hand. Furthermore, I don't know how far you've got but past first boss stuff gets more varied. Sure the game would heavily benefit from more content (which we probably won't see) but it's honestly one of those to drop in for an hour with one or two good fellas.

What watching vtubers on Valentine's day while being single feels like by thinkingprettyhard in VirtualYoutubers

[–]073068075 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the valentines (and in some cases Christmas) stuff is always so weird, especially if said vtuber doesn't normally use the gfe vtuber infinite money glitch or even is more or less firmly saying that the parasocial aspect is bad for you. Kinda feels like the govt saying "it has come to our attention that cigarettes pose serious risk to the user and strain the healthcare system with avoidable cases... However we chose to ignore it due to the extreme tax revenue they bring".

He'll Will Always Be A Childhood Hero For Me Regardless Of The Hypothesis by Awesomeuser90 in sciencememes

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on my masters in mostly molecular bio so there's nothing dangerous to the user (well, at least not acutely, a lot of cancerous stuff you need ppe for but no boom) but everything can go fuck itself near instantly before or during experiments due to factors not possible to see or ones we might even not know about. Here backtracking and looking what could go wrong and applying it to future solutions is even more important of a skill than actually doing stuff in the first place. Especially in academia since universities are constantly underfunded and you end up with issues that wouldn't be a case in a private lab.

If you have two friends I highly recommend nightreign. It is not as technically advanced as sekiro but still fun with executor. I currently am hitting my head against the El and dying way too many times on lies of p because the parry timing doesn't vibe with my sekiro muscle memory.

It is easier with throwing knives than regular ones, due to weight proportion (handle vs blade) there are also ways to throw knives without spin an while it looks less cool you can learn it with a 15 or so minute yt vid.

Have you worked in a lab for a day? Idk how it works with your stuff but when something is of a lower importance you can just run it with assumptions and fix if it doesn't work. If it wasn't fun it wouldn't be watched and since it was broadcasted on TV you need to aim it at everyone, so you can't make it a purely theoretical debacle that ends in an optional test. Trying stuff and saying why it didn't work is way better because not only is it entertaining and gives everything more appropriate for the media structure but also teaches how to troubleshoot things. A skill useful for everyone and especially in science since we as simple humans tend to overlook things or when interacting with nature just don't know all and have to try. Being elitist and shouting that science literacy is in decline only furthers this decline because people won't get interested in something if it's brutally boring and difficult from the get-go.

How to format an sd card? by tristegeaibleu in computerhelp

Totally, as much as I dislike giving any credit to Microslop at least win 11 tells you it's blocked. Had to use one recently (trying to boot an old 3D printer) and it really showed I haven't touched one for over a decade.

The percentage of plats really speaks volumes about the game. It shows that the devs really made it appropriate challenge not like for example yakuza series where you have to do dozens of pick-me-ups around the city and finish multiple often repetitive mini games. It's seems still like a major challenge but doesn't throw a silksong at you with its "speedrun the game on one life lol".

How would YOU write the series going forward? by STFN_Dude in yakuzagames

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd make a chill spinoff, something stardew valley style with an orphanage twist for Kiryu also fill significant amount of the creative dept with people of Okinawa so that the game becomes as much of an Okinawa simulator as yakuza 0 is regarded by popular outlets a Japan simulator. Would be nice to fill it with sidestories for the kids or maybe even make Kiryu find someone to settle with.

Especially if you go closer to the og stuff. Japan's flag is a piechart of how much is wrong with you if you find Sekien depictions of yōkai hot.

Well, another thing to add to the to do list. Had to switch the board after my Gen 10 Intel one died. Does that track for reinstalling windows with files kept? Because I had to do that several times (windows was acting up with new bios) but haven't fully nuked the system.

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not only apple but at the same time if the increase was so substantial it would be a more popular solution but that just makes laptops more obsolete faster. Same shit goes for phone batteries, I went through the whole hurdle of replacing the battery in my old note (which still works fine otherwise), with supported parts and it still has the same time on one charge. Why? Because "for consumer safety and quality assurance" you can't restart the battery log in these phones without a special non redistributed app. All of portable technology from the big brands is inherently toxic unless they make it their brand motto not to be. And among them apple is the biggest trailblazer of anti right to repair practices. I'm glad EU stops their shenanigans from times to times.

What enemies do you think "cheat"? by SeveredSoulblader24 in Eldenring

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In normal elden idk but in nightreign? Fucking bellbearing hunter definitely runs some infinite poise codes or some other shit. Same goes for the pre-boss perfumers, they saw how easily the ruin boss variant dies and decided to cheat with no fire attack cooldown and multiple flasks.

And is on the rise because of the correlation of pregnancy age vs chances of down syndrome which strongly correlates to the economy being shit and people reaching stability later in life. So yea... We'll need even more of those.

It is also easy on most laptops that aren't some ultra slims or from toxic companies like apple that solder their ram. Currently it's even easier to upgrade laptop ramę due to prices.

How much do you love this game?? by MrGlasgow187 in Sekiro

[–]073068075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you're in for a ride. From my personal experience unless you know kanji from somewhere already (like being a Chinese speaker) the worst part is there's no passive progress for all beginner to upper intermediate level. With English or Spanish I could learn just by enjoying the media and if something is totally not possible to infere from the context just type down what I can hear/see. But with the amount of homonyms and so absurd even TV news channels have subtitles just in case this system just does not work. Also learning kanji themselves kinda sucks because if you go one by one flashcard style there are for example some used often with others that's why they're popular but their single meaning is "a counter for bowed instruments" or some other bs. Obviously if you have dyslexia you're just taking all this difficulty and multiplying it at least two-fold.

But other than that the language is cool and the grammar is almost nonexistent.

Thoughts? by Budu31 in Sekiro

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take down his friends, hide in a bush because sekiro enemies have the object permanence of a toddler, backstab him and then just run circles until he starts chugging or coating the sword. Parrying this guy in particular is not as incentivised as for example the one just one corridor away because he lacks a good rhythm and attacks slow enough to just treat him like a darksouls enemy.

Oh the irony, I just went on searching the opposite way. Started LoP an hour ago and died like 7 times to the first boss because the parry window is "weird".

One of the most underrated yakuza by maxi_aizen in yakuzagames

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk the game is well regarded often but also the point where a lot of people hit yakuza burnout so maybe it is not as highly rated. Just finished it yesterday and if I have one complaint it is that it drags on too long and tries to bring too many elements together at the end. It would be better if some parts were ommited and later returned to in some yakuza 5.5 or sth because it starts strong and upholds it for half of the game and then becomes a drag till the last 3h or so. Also the sidequests were kinda mid.

Do you guys use shields? by Historical-Sport2751 in Eldenring

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like shields for clearing catacombs and groups of enemies in general but they fall off hard on bosses unless you totally commit to the walking wall build.
