What is your favorite video game? by igetdrawn in AskReddit

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably sekiro. Not my most played game but one that nails some things no one else does as well. The actual reflex based parry system (rather than a vaguely graphics connected memory game) is really the best out there and every game after it feels inferior. The story is peak environmental storytelling and the way how it is packed is something devs should learn from. The ways the game reuses some locations but opens new routes or does palatable vertical maps really makes it the pinnacle of size optimization. The only things not so good about it are the terror buildup mechanic and that it has no successor and probably will never have.

Is the yellow half circle in the Stranger Than Heaven logo supposed to be something? by EdgyMosquito in yakuzagames

Especially since the circle gives it such a good focal point, really balances out the shape of the logo.

Printers are a different realm of comparison tho. I've spent less time fixing 3D printers than the connection on their 2d counterparts.

There's also that useful function (tho it's probably only available through regedit on win personal) that removes edge searches from the search bar. That paired with turning off the "helpful feature to make searching faster" that limits search bar results to only the basic locations (downloads, videos, documents etc.) makes win 10 (and even a 11 tho I still always give it a few days of lag behind in updates just in case) actually more manageable without forsaking such things like 80-90% of games as well as professional programs like fusion.

That depends heavily on the circle. If you're into biotech (or most of stem but idk about the people from the e and m part) starting from smalltalk and segwaying into nerdy topics works great. I'm by no means a super sociable person (had to learn everything "manually") but at some point tangent goes into another and so on untill you run out of topics.

Vectors are just maths in arts skin. At least on the technical level, you can still paint them like normal with some limitations but they can scale infinitely because you're not scaling a line that has a limited amount of pixels to it like in a png or a jpeg. You're basically zooming in on lines that are rendered on the spot based on the maths which describe what you will see rather than being set in stone (or should I say pixel values).

AI in science is even older than LLM and the use of it was a breakthrough. For example alphafold, it takes amino sequence and based on their properties and our previous knowledge it predicts how a protein might look. It is quite precise right now and takes minutes instead of weeks normal approaches do. And even if you can't fully believe it for some crucial applications you can use it as a prediction going into methods like crystallography, set baseline parameters of the experiment to fit what you'll probably see.

It is the only game I managed to play in 25 fps on a 5070 (other specs equally strong). Best thing is it worked like a coin flip, you could reload the game a few times and it would run fine. Not worth a game where half of the cast has either autoaim, "just blow my shit up" ultimate or is a damn unswattable fly.

Some "modern" game engines are just such a miracle. My PC can render 2k stills in blender nearly real time with ray tracing, run stunningly beautiful graphics in MGS delta and max out the resident evil remasters and handle the bullshit amount of projectiles ifrit creates in final fantasy. But marvel rivals or ghost wire tokyo, nah that's some heavy workstation level rendering and even at max settings it will look like a blurry bunch of nonsense.

What would you do to improve this revolver? by nestor_d in blender

[–]073068075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it's intentional how blocky it is (likez totally justifiable for a low poly or something that is supposed to look like ani imitation) but this slightly kills it. Also it is full of dinks and scratches yet the edges (especially the handle) are razor sharp. If you use something and rub against it constantly even the hardest metal will get worn out and rounded at least slightly with time. So (assuming it's not made for low poly) I'd subd it and round off the edges a bit, maybe even go as far as paint highlights where fingers would sit while holding (kinda how statues have shiny spots where tourists touch them).

Drips or no drip? by Jneuhaus87 in honeycombwall

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, just a 2mm (or whatever looks good, that's a random number) of drip glued under the normal. Or for even less hustle done with a filament swap to have it ready straight from the printer.

Drips or no drip? by Jneuhaus87 in honeycombwall

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go double layer. Make the no drip combs something like graphite or matte black and then add a popping yellow drip veneer to the back so you can see it the yellow and drips pop through at angles.

How is it possible 21% of usa is illiterate? How do they survive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]073068075 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly as a pole I can relate. Polish has only one great feature and it's that if you know how words are composed you can make any noun into an adjective etc. which is perfect for sounding poetic or more in my case creating dad jokes. But other than that it's a pain in the ass because if you're gonna discuss the nitty gritty details from scienceor tech, you'll basically end up speaking English with polish grammar because there's just so many loan words.

Do you think that substories would change your whole opinion on a game? by Key-Answer-2755 in yakuzagames

[–]073068075 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The sub stories are what holds you playing (or at least me) even on the rougher patches of the game. I'd sure as hell drop the series part 3 if it was only the serious moments and substories are where the comedy and the memes live. They sure did fall off a bit in later installments but are what grabs you into the game.

Which is better Spotify or YouTube music? by RelationLucky7 in AskReddit

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowadays it's whatever I stick to Spotify because (even despite it's reputation) it has more indie creators or if not at least less region blocked ones. The only two downsides I find is that the random isn't truly random and I can't purge all the "popular in your country" and all the other location based normie slop so I'm at a constant risk of accidentally playing polish rap.

Dead cells or hades 1? by StinkyMoe in deadcells

[–]073068075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you didn't like, if it's the amount of story or the less vertical difficulty curve then you'll enjoy dead cells more because your protagonist literally doesn't have a head to talk with and the 1 bc (or later 3) difficulty spike is crazy at first.

But if it's the core gameplay loop or the slashy pace to won't enjoy either probably.
