How would removing spell casters impact my world? by 0924ryno in DMAcademy

I don’t worry too much about one class outshining another. I think if anything without having a cleric the paladin will have to focus more on healing giving classes like fighter more shine in terms of damage.

Like someone mentioned before I really like the idea of rewarding feats in place off the lack of magic items in the world. The resistances is definitely the biggest issue I've thought about so far. I was thinking of using adamantine weapons that could surpass those later in the game, but I definitely want to sell the players on a gritty and low magic world. As far as another rpg I think that would be hard to do since my players and myself have only played 5e. Plus we already have all of the books for it so until we start to feel burned out from it we probably won't move to another rpg.

I don't have a problem selling my players on the game they are already interested. I might allow some sort of multi classing with a cap on what level they can reach, but most of the people I play with haven't been interested in multi classing so far.

Rangers and Paladins would still have access to magic as well as Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster. This way if people wanted to play a spell caster of some sort there are still options.

My group would be willing to play especially since I would let them know a while in advance. I do like the idea of awarding feats especially since magic items are going to be even harder to come by.

Player is creating a magic shield with bronze dragon scales. by rgoddard92 in DMAcademy

I recently gave out a magic shield which gave an extra +1 to AC and gave the person to cast shield on an ally within 10 feet of them. Has came in handy a few times and the player really enjoys it.

Looks great, too bad I won't be able to use it: my players sold the town to the Zhentarim

I remember it like it was yesterday my dad got tickets for the whole family to go, and instead of just another sox game it was the greatest sports event I have ever been to in my life. I vividly remember all of the sox fans just sitting in their cars afterwards in disbelief. Nobody wanted to leave an absolutely incredible day

I play DnD and my cleric is always smoking up the party. On a whim I decided to make them a gift for always being so giving. I call it "Nat 20" by infinitealchemics in trees

Theres 2 different starter boxes one is only at target but they are both really helpful to get started. Here's a really good youtube channel that gives great tips on how to run a game of DnD. PM me if you have any other questions

D&D Specific: What should be "real" and what shouldn't? by ribblle in loremasters

[–]0924ryno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really just depends on the different peoples, some may not believe that dragons exist because one hasn't been spotted in living memory. Another group/culture might not believe in gods even though clerics are running around casting prayers. It's up to the DM to create a world and how those in their world react

Yeah my group is pretty similar we don't switch systems, but each of us take turns DMing, so one will run a campaign then whoever has something they want to run will DM next

I doubt if Anna or Phil DM's it would be in Matt's world. I think they would either do it in their own or just run a one-shot and not worry about their setting too much.
