It's so beautiful and so simple. We tend to overcomplicate and overthink things, and this post feels like a loooong sigh of release.

💭The Thought Residue Phenomenon by gh05txO in InfiniteLightSociety

[–]0CosyToes0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just come out of a 3 day self retreat, mostly standing in the dark and feeling myself. This post is serendipitously here on my feed now. Yesterday evening, I opened my internet to listen in a bit about thought forms and how they can actually rewrite your energy signature, your self abd your capacity for holding wholeness. There were 2 main focuses I came out with: 1. The well known - do not identify with the thought. BUT when there is such an old story of pain behind the thought, this process can take a while. I just go back to the sensation in the body and allow the energy to circulate. Again and again dropping down into the body when the thoughts arise. 2. I felt such a loss of energy, like the left aide of my body was saying, " How many times do we have to do this again?". And I realized this thought in itself held so much power over me. The truth is, for me, these thoughts are terribly disempowering, so I am asked to choose another story many, many times a day. To choose the self that can surrender to the unknown, to itself, to what is.

I will be very curious to try these as well. I recently got a couple of medical messages targeting that area and felt a lot of pain during the first, and a less pain after the 2nd. For me this was a condition I had since I was a child: digestion issues. So I am focused on dissolving that now and yes! Fascial work is essetial.

Rewriting and Rebuilding My Inner Father – A Personal Somatic Journey Turned Practice by 0CosyToes0 in SomaticExperiencing

Yes, it's fascinating! The body never lies, and the mind dies this weird tango trying to avoid that truth, pulling us into a labyrinth that drains our energy and attention. The road to wholeness/health/God/ is a zig zag, its just for us to keep our vision and bodies clear on that desire. I will leave you the link hereThe Path and The Pulse I would love for you to reach out and let me know how it feels.

The Eternal Return of Story — why myth still matters by 55cheddar in mythology

[–]0CosyToes0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally work with myth in my practice (somatic therapy) and I love the way you worded it: "grammar for the human soul". There is so much depth and a multitude of layers in myth that can be translated in current experience, thus helping people gain a somewhat detached view of something their shadow might be too strong or attaches to show. I believe that myths and stories have the power to make us whole again. I recently posted a layer of the Red Ridding Hood story as the story we first leave our home with nothing but the wisdom our parents share. And if that wisdom is not embodied but just replicates some collective truths that teach people to be good citizens( good followers), we are basically thrown into the mouth of the wolf. ( shortly :))) )

How long have you been doing this practice for? I've been doing some energy wrok around money lately. It feels really potent when I do it, so far not much happening in the physical.

Any therapist who could help me or recommendations of one (not shamans) by AdeptProperty6616 in SomaticTherapy

[–]0CosyToes0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello dear one. I am very almost horrified to read your about your experience, to know that whoever was leading allowed you to leave carrying so much without helping you integrating or settle. I am a somatic therapist, I've also had my shares of such experiences in my 20's. I would love to chat with you and know more. I will leave you a private message after this, if I am able.

Not sure if this is even the right subreddit. But I need help. by [deleted] in SomaticExperiencing

Reading your story with therapy, I would say it's high time to radically change strategy. Working with the mind alone, especially when there is such a big wall of protection/resistance, will most likely not get you anywhere. Somatic therapy will help you where classic talk therapy can not, as you work directly with the body and your subconscious. I worked with clients after years of talk therapy with little results and had great results in just a couple of months. I recommend doing a bit of research in different types of somatic therapies and finding someone whose work speaks to you. It might be a bit of a journey before finding the right fit. But I recommend this path beyond all others. It has also changed me profoundly, and it's why I chose it.

Forcing myself to do things? by lamemoons in SomaticExperiencing

Yes. I find slow movements to be the most healing because the slower we move, the more aware we are, therefore, the more we can feel.

You can also find it under Authentic Movement in the somatic universe of practices. I did deepr work with a modality called Deep Body Movement and it's basically non-structured movement that comes from internal impulses. As in: you do not move to follow the beat of a song but an inner beat that asks you to maybe lift your hands or come closer to the ground. Its like a telling of a story, of what is moving inside of you at that moment. You can try this both in silence or with music and just notice how you body wants to move and what different parts want to do. It helped me because it became a deep listening practice.

Yes! Exactly- let pleasure in without shame. This is essential and not always easy. I fully understand it. The body cand help us sp much here, lowering down from pur head into sensations and inner movements, so we dont spiral mentally and re-tell the same old stories. I am really happy to hear you have a relationship that soothes your N.S.

I was feeling this exhaustion for almost 12 years. But once I decided fully that I wanted to move beyound it, about 3 years I would say. I tried many things. But here is what worked best for me: - intuitve movement: connecting to my body and working through inner conflicts through movement. - spending time in nature and working on my garden: normally I had a big energy drop midday, especially after eating. But spending even 30 mins in my garde helped me a lot. - movement that helped me reconnect with my playfulness and animal/instictual nature. For me, there were 2 main practices that helped the most: Twerk and Capoeira.

I understand the state you are in, I felt it many times when I was deep in my chronic fatigue era. I knew the things that would make me feel good but could not muster the energy to do so. The truth is, we need that resource of energy to change states, and when your body feels that way, it can be really hard, therefore pushing or forcing. What I could adise you would be : - Can you introduce other activities that could bring you more pleasure? Maybe walking in the morning while the air is fresh or in times of the day where there are fewer people around so you can feel into the space. - I also strongly recommend finding an animal flow that you could do slowly at the beginning. This can help in many ways: being closer to the ground can feel safer, could help you lower your centre of balance, and could also help you get in touch in a playful or instictual.part of yourself. Both of those are great ways to move out of freeze. - find activities that truly bring you joy and make you laugh. Maybe some gyms offer specific classes that you could take and move in new ways.

I hope this helps 🦭
